TBrennan Posted January 7, 2004 Posted January 7, 2004 Rick---You're serious? Amazing. Your bland ease and comfort with The Big Lie is Goebbels-like in it's sweep, I tip my hat to you for your chutzpah if nothing else. Quote

DeanG Crossovers Posted January 7, 2004 Author Posted January 7, 2004 On the political scale, Communism is on the far left, and Fascism is on the far right -- at least that is the way they taught it to us in High School. No Clipped, I'm not Paranoid. It's just you never miss an opportunity to take a swing at us. We want "Creationism" taught along with Evolution, and you act like we're trying to take over the school system, along with all those minds that I guess can't think for themselves. I'm still looking for the Evolutionist explanation for symbiotic relationships, when every one of them involves life elements separated by millions of years on the Evolutionary time scale. You guys only have about 200 or more problems like that one to explain. Of course, we get accused of using Psuedo-Science, but if that whacked out theory was held up to the same standards you are trying to have us meet -- it would have been ripped out of textbooks 30 years ago. Clipped and Shorn Posted January 7, 2004 Posted January 7, 2004 Adolf Hitler (great admiration for Ford and his beliefs) Henry Ford (Hitler's buddy and supplier) Prescott Bush (W's grand daddy and Hitler's banker.) Clipped and Shorn Posted January 7, 2004 Posted January 7, 2004 "Soooo a left wing socialist web site run by some dems. What else is new?" Yes, so get used to it as there is now a healthy and growing and very welcomed proliferation! "We have to fight back. But we can't fight like they do. The Right's entertainment value comes from their willingness to lie and distort. Ours will have to come from being funny and attractive." Hello! Quote

3dzapper Posted January 7, 2004 Posted January 7, 2004 "On the political scale, Communism is on the far left, and Fascism is on the far right -- at least that is the way they taught it to us in High School." Yes Dean, that is what "they" taught you in high school. Do you really think that "they" were going to teach you that Stalin, Kruschov(sp?), Castro, Che, and Mao were fascists? Reread the definition and think of each of these Socialist regimes and how the definition applies to each. Rick Edit: What I am saying is that by defination, faschism belongs to the left as well as the right. Common usage by the left is that anyone to the right of Joe Lieberman is a faschist. That is my objection to the use of faschist in political discourse. Quote
Clipped and Shorn Posted January 7, 2004 Posted January 7, 2004 I can live with doubt and uncertainty and not knowing. I think it's much more interesting to live not knowing than to have answers which might be wrong. I don't feel frightened by not knowing things. The pursuit of real science makes me happy, that other stuff is some kind of insane repressive nightmare right out of the movie "Planet Of The Apes". I start out to understand religion by saying everything is possibly wrong. As soon as you do that, you are sliding down a slippery slope which is hard to recover from. With the scientific view that we should look to see what is true and what may not be true you start to employ the process of doubting which is fundamental. When you doubt and ask it gets a little harder to believe. Regarding science, we do not know what is true, we're trying to find out and everything is possibly wrong. Quote

TBrennan Posted January 7, 2004 Posted January 7, 2004 Rick---And why wouldn't "they" want it taught that Mao, Nikki and the Boys were Fascist? Afraid of giving Fascism a bad name? Quote
syclone385 Posted January 7, 2004 Posted January 7, 2004 mdeneen, I am sorry I didn't get it right the first time. Mitigating your risks is always a good idea, in the military we call that "risk assessment", but your "avoidance strategy" does not account for the knife wielding maniac bearing down on you. It also does not account for a bunch of Arabs with flight training bearing down on 3,000 innocent Americans. If you are an American then there are rough men doing violence on your behalf right now. Don't mean to give you nightmares. Just stating the facts. In one of your previous posts you say,"We love it, we crave it, we will do damn near anything to get some of it every few years. We will even place ourselves in the middle of danger to provoke it." Who loves it? I have an extensive military background, fired and am familiar with nearly every device of destruction including laser designators for said Spectre gunships. I can honestly say that I do not love it. I have seen first hand what these "tools" do. While your utopian society does not exist, I must defend my genetic offspring from the chainsaw wielding maniac that lives up the street or the explosive laden Arab around the corner. To not do so would be shirking my responsibility as a father. Please answer my previous question, do you stand by and watch as the poor old man is beat and robbed? Quote

boomac Posted January 7, 2004 Posted January 7, 2004 I would help any man getting a beating whether he was rich or poor, liberal or conservative, from SC or PA, any color, of any race or of any national origin. I would even help a poor bugger that owned Bose Speakers. It seems to me that America is all about helping people in need. Some Americans do it through their actions and others try to do it through academic BS but most people care and try. BTW, this thread is rapidly going down hill. Quote

I collect old US Military Rifles and shotguns, 97s, 03s, 03As, 1917s, M1s, M14s etc. With the exception of the M2s, 23s, M16, M4s etc. which are full auto and cost way too much. I do like the SMLEs though. Quote
