Clipped and Shorn
I have some nos 6SL7GT. Can they be substituted for 6SN7? I have several pp amps which call for 6SN7. Just wanted to check before trying anything. C&S
Clipped and Shorn
I checked, so I guess not without major alterations: The 6SN7 Specification and max ratings(*) Filament Voltage 6.3 V Filament Current 0.6 A Plate Voltage (max) 450 V Plate Current (max) 20 mA Plate Dissipation (max) 5 W Screen Voltage (max) --- V Screen Current (max) --- A Screen Dissipation (max) --- W The 6SL7 Specification and max ratings(*) Filament Voltage 6.3 V Filament Current 0.3 A Plate Voltage (max) 300 V Plate Current (max) 6 mA Plate Dissipation (max) 1 W Screen Voltage (max) --- V Screen Current (max) --- A Screen Dissipation (max) --- W
3dzapper
C&S, Go to this web site and download the TDSL Personal Edition. It's free and very useful. Definately a "Best Buy"! http://tdsl.duncanamps.com/ Rick Oh yea, no they aren't subs.
Painful Reality
6SL7 and 6SN7 are different beasts. The 6SL7 is a high gain tube while the 6SN7 has a medium gain. They are definitively not interchangeable without modifications in the circuit.
