Possible to rebuild old Empire Grenadier 8000Ps?

IMHO the best thing you could do with any of the old Empire speakers is to part them out, sell the parts to someone who wants them, and use the money to buy some decent speakers. That is what I did with a pair that came into my hands. Describe the parts properly and you should be able to get a decent price. You ought to be able to get about $75 just for a pair of marble tops in good condition. I sold the alnico midrange dome drivers for a nice price to some guy in Asia. FWIW I kept the marble tops for another project.

If you want to fix them up, the parts show up on eBay from time to time, but not frequently. There are also some companies that have NOS parts. If the woofer, squaker and tweeter are in good conditon, all you need to do is replace the old dried out electrolytic capacitor(s) in the crossover with new film capacitors.
