Passive Radiator Dome Pushed In, Problem?

Recommended Posts

I picked up a set of KG4s, they are in very good condition, but the domes in the center of both passive radiators have been pushed in. Will this cause any discernable sound distortion? I hate how they look, but don't want to replace them unless it will improve sound quality.

The dome is a dust cap and will not affect the sound of the passive radiator. If it bothers you try pulling it out with a piece of duct tape or a straight pin (use both gently, of course).

You can also use a vacuum to pull the dustcap out to make it look better. They have no effect on the sound, but for looks they will be better after you fix them......just make sure the vacuum is not super strong as it might "over fix" your problem.
