eagle-eye
Is it possible to easily remove the KLF-30's steel hex bolts that the plastic feet screw into? I need to place my rear corner KLF-30s on top of KSW-15 subs. ------------------ KLF-30 fronts KLF-30 rear corner KLF-C7 center KSP-S6 sides KSP-S6 rears KSW-15 (2) rear corners HPS-1000 front sub Denon AVR-4800 Marantz 10B tuner Monster THS-5000
HornEd
Eagle-eye, I used Dynamat circles to stand my KLF 30's on KSW-12's and 15's and it worked without a hitch... until I elected to go for some cleaner first and second octave sound. Enjoy the heavy side of sound... I sure do. HornEd Dynamat is sold where car audio is sold. ------------------ "Where Legends Live! mace
HornEd, Will those Dynamat circles make the sound heavy? how do these circles compare with the spikes?? eagle-eye: <snip...sorry for the bad info> it sounds a bit precarious to place the 30's on a sub... lots of vibration. Guest BobG
the receiver hex units are not removable. Use the supplied rubber tipped threaded feet to place the speaker on your sub.
eagle-eye
Thanks to all who responded. I found that vibration of KLF-30s was barely detectable and no more whether with or without the KSW-15s under them. No matter what level is fed to the KSW-15, the KLF-30s stay put -- I had expected them to walk off the subs. I may add a small rubber furniture pad under each foot sometime in the future to prevent someone (like my grandson) from accidently moving their position. ------------------ KLF-30 fronts KLF-30 rear corners KLF-C7 center KSP-S6 sides KSP-S6 rears KSW-15 (2) rear corners HPS-1000 front sub Denon AVR-4800 Marantz 10B tuner Monster HTS-5000
HornEd
Eagle-eye, the Dynamat comes in a letter size sheet and is quite thin. It is designed to stick to metal body parts behind car speakers to deaden sound. If you cut out your favorite shape, it will do well. Before adding the Twin SVS CS-Ultra, I had mounted KLF 10's & 30's atop KSW-12's & KSW-15's... and, Mace, the Dynamat seemed to reduce the minimal vibrations and negate accidental slippage. The product has a self-adhesive so I glued two pieces together to make an extra thick buffer. I added the Dynamat since I am a native San Franciscan and grew up where the fault line goes under the ocean. I'll never forget the sharp 3 a.m. (or so) quake that hit after a rare evening of too much to drink. I swore off strong drink three times before my new college bride verified Mother Nature's part.
