So excited:

I've been plugging along happily for a couple years with a 50" Samsung plasma, blu-rays, Dish, and a 360, but have heretofore largely ignored the audio side of things. No longer. I've finally upgraded beyond my using my laughable college-era Altec Lansing ACS641 4.1 computer setup as "home theater" speakers to something I expect to be truly wonderful:

Fronts: 2x RF-52II

Center: RC-52 II

Surround: 2x RB-41 II

Amp: Yamaha RX-V667

Got it all from various sources for a pretty good (?) overall price of $1250.

For now, I'm (over!)spent, and will have to be satisfied on the low end with my old Altec sub (200W, 2x6.5") until the tide passes. In any case, I'm sure this will be *orders of magnitude* better than what I had before, and last me for *many* years to come (I promised my wife).

So... everything is here now and installed. As requested, here's a photo of the front setup. These may not be as massive as some of the enthusiast setups here, but WOW - for me, this entry-level Reference-line setup is just a striking, incredible upgrade. I've got the pair of RB-41s on simple Sanus stands in the back. Just awesome.

You may notice that I couldn't resist pushing my budget further and ended up getting a sub. I found a BIC V1220 on Craigslist for $100, and it seems to be serving the setup well.

I'm busy blitzing through great audio scenes from some good-quality Blu-rays (Avatar, Transformers, Inception, etc.) and will listen to a bit of the Dave Matthews Blu-ray next. I'm thrilled after these first few hours, but the best part is that I have years and years to keep enjoying it all. Thanks again, forum.

Here is my lil setup. I just replaced F-3s with these today.

RF-62's

<a href="http://s45.photobucket.com/albums/f54/bnutz8/?action=view&current=Picture001.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f54/bnutz8/Picture001.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Side surrounds are RS-52's

<a href="http://s45.photobucket.com/albums/f54/bnutz8/?action=view&current=Picture002.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f54/bnutz8/Picture002.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Rear Surrounds are RS-41ii's

<a href="http://s45.photobucket.com/albums/f54/bnutz8/?action=view&current=Picture003.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f54/bnutz8/Picture003.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

And the center is RC-62

<a href="http://s45.photobucket.com/albums/f54/bnutz8/?action=view&current=Picture004.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f54/bnutz8/Picture004.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Now I can't wait to get home and try them out. Plan on mounting the TV on the wall in the future to clean things up a bit.

Additional: Integra 6.9, Samsung LNA750, PS3.
