colterphoto1
short n sweet... ALWAYS get the biggest, baddest center channel speaker you can, you'll never be sorry. Reasons... You only have to buy ONE of these, therefore $$ are better spent You may upgrade your surround system over time When listening to stereo sources, center does not come into play, therefor the 'timbre' match is not so important. What is critical in HT listening is that the center be a great as possible. This RC7 fits the bill here. Glad to hear that the listening tests all agree! white_shadow
I'm sure the rc7's sound better and match well with other reference speakers. But for three times the price, its just not what I'm looking for right now. My room is about 15x15. With rb5's, an rc3, and rs3s and a soda can shaking 20 watt sub my sys is decent. Not to mention the rc7 might crush my 27" sony. With my major I'll probably end up in the silcon valley living in a 1 bedroom apt or studio. I can almost guarantee I'll have even less room then.
