SteelerFan Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 Anyone who has heard both or just wants to give an opinion. I'm looking for something that's compact and also good with music. Quote
gcoker Posted June 30, 2004 Posted June 30, 2004 Compact? I don't think of the RSW models as compact. What size are you thinks of. Quote
SteelerFan Posted June 30, 2004 Author Posted June 30, 2004 I agree the RSW-12 isn't exactly compact, but it's quite a bit smaller than the SVS PB2 and PC+ series and a few inches more compact than the RSW-15 which is a little over my budget anyway. The Velodyne is even smaller than the RSW-12. I read on here awhile back that SVS was coming out with a compact box series of subs sometime this year but the year is half over now with no word yet. nicholtl Posted June 30, 2004 Posted June 30, 2004 I've listened to both at my local Goodguys "high end" room using Gladiator, The Fifth Element, and The Matrix as testing material. If I remember correctly, the SPL-1200 was insanely small, yet produced some of the lowest, sweetest bass I had heard. It definitely won me over versus the RSW-12. If I think really REALLY hard, perhaps the RSW-12 had a little more oomph and punch, but it didn't seem to extend as low and flat as the Velodyne did. Quote

Having both Sunfire/Klipsch and velodyne subs all I can say is ...HA HA I have them and you don't Seriously listen...to the subs, compare. And decide, what is great to me may be good but not great for you.RSW's punch VS the SLP's depth.Well not as simple really as the RSW12 digs wuite deep, the SPL digs a bit deeper and does not pack the RSW's punch.
