Denon 2805/3805 for music

From what I have been reading the Denon recievers are some of the best HT receivers. I have noticed they include a phono input. This got me to thinking, how do these units do for music? (I listen mainly to rock). I currently have an Onkyo TX-SR500 and it does pretty good for HT but really lacks in music.

Thanks

I had a 3802 which i just upgraded to a 3805. To put it simply, Denon recievers do everything amazingly. For the price, they cannot be beat with features and sound.

I played music through my DVD player, as well as from my computer that was hooked up, and from digital cable music channels, and from all sources it sounded just as good as home theater. Everything sounds good. It has decent bass management, (the new ones are even better).

I can't be too specific, but everything was clear and just awesome.
