IF:

Forte (raised) > Chorus II in a small room

AND

Chorus II = Cornwall II

BUT

Chorus II looks > Cornwall II (IMO)

THEN

Forte I > Chorus II > Cornwall II (In my small room) (Opinion)

BUT

Chorus II > Forte I (In a big room)

SO

Me moving to big room = me purchase Chorus II?

BUT

Me not moving = Fortes give me best sound I can get in my room

Um.. whooz? You're in the fringe area right now. I'd say most of us have figgered out, in audio (and many other things!) numbers mean precisely squat.

My tube amp has a THD that would send a scope dope running to his mommy! Would I swap it for a .002% THD solid-state? no. Not in a million years.

Get the fortes in, feed 'em some clean, clean power. Then come back and say what happened.

^.^

Don't sweat it man! You got Fortes! most folk out there are *clueless!* They got bose, boston-acoustic, whatever the local hi-fi *cough* emporium pushes.

Numbers and specs matter not -- only what it does to your soul when you hear it!

FOr some perspective, a pair of Fortes did my friend's wedding. A 30x50' hall. I was getting kudos from random strangers on how 'live' and 'real' it sounded. And that was pused by a very modest digital receiver (not mine, his ;o)

You'll have no probs. with the Fortes. At all.

Hello:

The math is not truly applicable until the power, furnishings and desired sound level is stated.

IMO, stay with the Fortes whether you go to a larger area or not. Unless that larger area is a football field.

You could save by not changing at this point. The savings could go to different Klipsch Speakers, the larger room, a different source either upgrading or adding something different.

To simplify your decision, I wrote a little C++ program with your variables as well as some proven psychoacoustic algorithms...

After processing the data for a little over an hour and a half (P4C with 1GB 800Mhz ram) it gave me the following answer.......

4

hope it helps you... 9.gif

I think the answer is 5 apples.

Gee Wizz, WYD has been peppering us with odd questions; and expecting us to reveal the secrets of the Universe while he stands on one foot; poised to interject another variable.

In my view, there is no reason to believe that one speaker or the other of the type mentioned is better in a room of any reasonable dimension.

WYD,

Correct!

You have just picked up the best possible speakers for your room.

Now repeat this to yourself 100 times and stop wondering about all the other alternatives - time to start figuring out what you are going to drive them with!
