sbquart
I have the sound and vision setup DVD and was wondering what is the best way to calibrate the two back surround speakers. The disc only outputs sound for one surround back speaker. Do I average out the two backs to match the rest of the system or do each back speaker get matched to the rest of the system individually? Thanks.
marksdad
what reciever are you using? if the sound and vision disc does not work for you cant you use the speaker menu set up to calibrate your speakers? i know that i did both and found the calibrations to be exactly the same, except that my reciever allowed me to calibrate all speakers
marksdad
honestly i found that the only part of the disc that was new to me, or usable was the video portion, the rest was contained in in every manual i ever used, the only thing you need is a good spl meter. CECAA850
The way I did mine was to use the disc to calibrate my 3 front and 2 sides so that they were all within a dB of each other. I then removed the disc and used my receivers internal tones. I left the 5 speakers that I had just calibrated alone and matched the remaining 2 to the ones I had calibrated to the disc. You must use an SPL meter to do this correctly. Carl
sbquart
Well I averaged out the 2 backs to match the rest of the speakers, I'm running an HK avr325. Is there any disc that has a 7.1 channel test tones? I read it better to use discs instead of the internal tones.
