dtximages
I was just reading in the parts list section of the bb. They mentioned bucking magnets to repel each other. What is that all about?
JohnA
Chris, The bucking magnet cancels, at least partially, the external magnetic fields generated by the driver's magnet. That reduces or prevents interference with the TV. John
Ray Garrison
Idea is you glue a "bucking" magnet to the back of the magnet attached to the driver. By orienting the fields so that they are 180 degrees opposed to each other, you largely cancel any radiated fields without interfering with the internal field surrounding the voice coil. dtximages
So it does nothing to the sound right?
Triton
I don't think it would be anything noticable, I have been looking into this myself. I have the KlF-30's which are not shielded and when I first set them up in my living room, the picture on my TV was really distorted. I since have moved them a few feet away from my TV. I guess the question is do you have the room or not? If not check into the Bucking Magnets.
Ray Garrison
Bucking magnets do not change the sound. Uh, that is, they don't change the sound the SPEAKERS make. They have a tendency to change the sound eminating from the videophile from "$%&*#($%&% green spots!" to "Way cool!"
