kito2112
System is; Sony DA555ES reciever Mitsu DVD KLF30 mains C-7 center KSF-S5 rears PF15TL+ sub I just bought the Video Essentials and a sound meter. I'm trying to calibrate my speakers but cannot get the rears to 75dB! The center channel is set +6 dB to achieve 75dB, but the rears, even at +10dB can only achieve 70dB on the meter. Am I doing this right? I'm using the master volume control to set the mains reference level, then using the internal gain to adjust the other speakers to it. If there were some way to "turn down" the mains, I think I could balance everything. Am I missing something here?
Steve Phillips
Is +10 the most you can get out of the Sony? Too bad you can't turn the mains down. What is the spl@a watt of the KSF-S5?Isn't it around 96 or so?The C-7 99 and the 30's 102?I can't remember. Seems the db should be closer than what you are getting.Sorry I can't be of anymore help than that.
