I won't tell them what you told me on the phone today. 9.gif

Basically, the K-57-K running with the Type B3 is 3db hotter in the midrange than the K-55 is. So, if you want your K-57-K/B3 combo to "match" your Cornwalls with the Type B's and Alnico K-55-V's -- drop the inductor connection on tap #2 to tap #1, drop the squawker connection from tap #3 to tap #2, and then change 5uF capacitor to 2.5uF. 30 minutes and $20.00.

I can't BELIEVE I am reviving this thread.........BUT, I have some 83 cornwalls with mid horn drivers that are marked...........k52H.....that appear to be mounted in metal K 600 horns

I have new B3 crossovers and I seem to have a bad mid driver. There is a pair of Klipsch K-55-v driver for sale.....and I wanted to know if I could use these with my B3 cross?

I am sure the answer is somewhere in this thread..........but I am not sure

Thanks, Tom

can anyone tell me in which years were fitted the k-55V?
I own an early Cornwall I without serial number and I would like to date them.
thanks
Gaetano

Give us your serial number, the manufacture date is hidden there (need decoder ring though [;)] )

Or you can look here. It involves the letter in the serial number. The following text is from Bob Crites' page.
