Luiz Posted January 30, 2005 Share Posted January 30, 2005 Hello, This is my first post on this forum. I always wanted to buy a Klipsch speakers. I remember in 86' readind the Forte review in Stereophile, but on those days I was 20 could no afford it. After that the High-end stormed the world with polite and smal speakers. Now I want to make my old dream come true, and buy a Forte or Heresy to my Beach House. I have an Rotel RA-931mkII and an old Sansui AU-417 and think that both are good, but will lack the punch and warm of bigger amps. I don't know how many WPC's your amps have under the hood, but would be quite surprised if your Forte's didn't sound fabulous driven by them. fini Posted January 30, 2005 Share Posted January 30, 2005 Yep, as Dee says, the beauty of Klipsch speakers is their efficiency, so it does not take much power to drive them. They do accentuate flaws in systems (which may lead to upgrades, darn it!). Best to wait and hear how they work with your source and amplification. Might be perfect for you! yaffstone Posted January 30, 2005 Share Posted January 30, 2005 Fortes will not be too big for your amp. They one of the great speakers in the Klipsch line. Lots of solid base and clear clear highs. Luiz Posted January 30, 2005 Author Share Posted January 30, 2005 Thank you all you guys. Actualy I am also deciding for the Forte or the Heresy. I can buy a Forte here in Brazil (São Paulo) for $1200 plus shipping or a Heresy for about $700 at eBay (includes shipping and customs). The Forte I will have waranty from the dealer, but the Heresy at eBay will be too far to have some warranty. The Heresy will be easier to move around the house (pool, barbecue location etc...). The Rotel is 35/w ch and the Sansui 60/w ch. Actualy I did not even tested the Sansui. I use the Rotel with Tannoy Mercury 1 Speakers. After the summer I will bring the Klipsch to the city, and put it at my HT room, to be an alternative speaker to my system (BW cdm7nt, Audio Research SP16p pre-amp , Conrad Johnson MV55 amp). Cal Blacksmith Posted January 31, 2005 Share Posted January 31, 2005 I have a both pair of Forte1 and Heresy 2. The Fortes will dig lower and have more bass than the Heresy. They are the speakers I have in my listening room which is smaller than yours (if I make the conversion correctly 4.2m x 4m x 2.8m) 13' x 12' x 8' and they sound GREAT! laurenc319 Posted February 10, 2005 Share Posted February 10, 2005 hi Luiz, I'm new to this forum also, but I do have a pair of Fortes which and my amplifier is an EICO HF-81 integrated amp from 1958. It has 14 watts output per channel and it drives the Fortes just fine with the exception of a slight weakness in the bass as compared to my Soundcraftsman A400 power amp (200 watts per channel ).
