onkyo
http://shopping.yahoo.com has GREAT prices on Klipsch, but don't think these companies are Authorized, but you'll save $100+. Example: I plan on getting the SC-1, should I pay the Authorized dealer $280 or the other guy $169? Ahhh very tempting to go with yahoo merchants huh? I did when I ordered my SB-3 total price $

Bill H.
Hi, I see what you mean, on the savings, just worried that IF,(BIG if), something were to go wrong, can I get the Merchant I bought it thru, on line, to honor the warranty? Its a toss up 548.00 online for the NAD 751 or pay a Dealer, 748.00. Thanks for the input! Bill ------------------ wh
boa12
wh, i've found in the past that bringing the net prices to the attention of the dealer can provide some bargaining leverage. then it's a matter of how much the dealer support & warranty service is really worth. for me that's 25% max more than the lower net prices. fe, my klf-30s back when they were still makin 'em were $1100 on the net. the local dealer came all the way down from the $1800 msrp to $1300. i thought that was pretty fair & went w/ the local dealer. w/ my marantz receiver, it was even better. though the lowest net price of $895 for that also came w/ full factory warranty. so the local dealer came much closer to that w/ an offer of $1000. shipping & sales tax were a wash, so that extra $100 really went toward instant gratification ------------------ Klipsch KLF 30 (front), KLF C7, Cornwall I (rear) Velodyne HGS-18 sub woofer Monsterbass 400 sub interconnect/Monster MCX-2 biwire & Z1 cable Marantz SR-8000 receiver Sony DVP-C650D 5-disk cd/dvd player Sony Trinitron 27" stereo tv Toshiba hi-fi stereo vcr Technics dual cassette deck Scientific Atlanta Explorer 2100 digital cable box Monster HTS1000 PowerCenter Boa's Listenin Lounge: Klipsch RF-3, RC-3 Monster MCX-1 Biwire Sony STR-DE935 a/v receiver Kenwood KR-9600 AM/FM stereo receiver (vintage 1975) Russound AB-2 receiver switch to RF-3 Teac PD-D1200 5-disk cd changer Technics SL-1950 turntable/AT LS500 cartridge rock on! Bill H.
<[bR>Noticed your receiver is a Sony 975-how do you like it? I am building a complete system, looking at Denon 1801, and NAD T751. Price being the factor. Your ideas, suggestions please. This will go along with my Klipsch SB-2's. ------------------ wh
boa12
wh, i'd definitely take your denon over my sony de935. may give it to my brother to make uo for that quad pioneer i sold him back in the early 70s i'd rate my sony 935 ok for the $, but for me definitely a 5.1 beginner's mistake.
