Drinkin At The Lincoln
I have a pair of Klipsch La Scala speakers gathering dust in my basement from my long lost days of rockin' in a band. Well, some years have passed by and the band is getting back together, just with no drummer, as an acoustical 'unplugged' type thing where suge large cabinets are a bit much to be lugging around. So, we're looking to liquidate them, and that's what brings me to your little slice of the 'net. I wanted to do a little more research on them to find a fair market price, so any information any of you could provide would be greatly appreciated. I apologize for not having more information on them, as I am not an audio afficianado, but I can tell you they are in fine working condition, a little less for the wear, but loud nonetheless. Thanks in advance for any light you may shed for me.

Drinkin At The Lincoln
Is there a way to determine what year these are by visual check? Is there info on the tag? Inside? I have serial numbers... does that help? (Thank you for your help.)
Klipsch Employees Trey Cannon Posted April 1, 2005 Klipsch Employees Share Posted April 1, 2005 Yes that will help sometimes...the PRO S/N is not as easy to read sometimes.
Drinkin At The Lincoln
Yeah, I can tell how they could fade, or be worn. Looks like someone at the factory wrote it on their with a pencil. The serial numbers I have are: #155805 and #155806 Is there somewhere to reference those numbers, or can you guys tell just by recalling your own memory? IndyKlipschFan
http://home.earthlink.net/~ivol/klipsch_cornwall/klipsch_date_codes.htm Here is the site to "de code" Klipsch Speakers. Pro la scalas like Trey said hard to know. The drivers and x over will put it at a good estimate.
Drinkin At The Lincoln
That 'decoder' page is awesome, but it seems the serial number I have doesn't fit in any of the patterns. Are the serial numbers nothing more then the date of manufacture? They look like these unfinished Birch ones:
Drinkin At The Lincoln
I finally took some pictures of the ones I have. Hopefully it'll reveal something I've missed in my description:

If I recall a good buying price then you tried to sell the hangers,, Those look rough obviously had them in a bar,,,, 800 would of been a good top price or lower IMO. I looked at those. Drinkin At The Lincoln
Sorry Indy, but you must have me confused with someone else. Although I can't speak for those who owned them before us, these cabinets have been in our posession for at least 10 years, the past three in my basement, and in all that time we have never had them on eBay. With that being said, they will be listed soon. I appreciate everyone's help with the information. Although I still don't know the year manufactured or any of the specs, I at least have a ballpark to compare offers to, making sure I'm not ripping anyone off, or getting ripped off myself. Drinkin At The Lincoln
Thanks again Indy. Your help is greatly appreciated. As you can see from my earlier post, I did check out the page you referenced, but mistakenly thought the 'S' in the serial number was a '5' and couldn't crack the code. Drinkin At The Lincoln
Any idea on how much it costs to ship these things? Any suggestions for best method?
