ben.
Doesn't that reduce the LF/Mid crossover point on that network by 1/2?
jbsl
Don't know. Not sure if it applies to the new Klipsch crossovers or the older models. Xman
NOSValves
Here is the picture of the quick modifiction to smooth off the HF response of the Cayin TA-30. I did this from memory as far as the value of the cap maybe Royster can chime in to confirm the value is correct.

jbsl
Saw some caps at Radio Shack. Tiny little suckers can not believe they can change the sound but if you say they will help I will give em a try. Xman
mike stehr
You want to replace it with a silver mica cap, like Craig mentions in the pic. I doubt radio shack has them, I've yet to see them. Don't use another ceramic cap.
robster
Hi XMan-I mailed the silver mica caps via priority mail today, they were extras I ordered for my Cayin. Soldering them was fairly easy for my buddy who's does stuff like that at his work place. Cheers, Robert
jbsl
Robster thanks again for mailing me the caps!!! Hey which Blueberry did you get? With or without cream. The $795 is a great deall!! I don't think I will have too much trouble with the caps. I'm going to buy the soldering kit tomorrow and get some practice in this weekend and put em in next week. Then get some KT 88 or KT 90s and do some more rolling. Thanks for any tube suggestions and after I get the caps in and let burn in a couple of weeks I'll let you know which tubes I like best in my system. Craig and Robster if your ever in Austin and need a place to stay or just want to come by and play with my stereo system just let me know.!! jbsl
Okay next question is how are the caps attached in the Cayin and how do I take out the old ones? Xman
NOSValves
The cap is soldered. You simply snip the leads off or heat the solder joint to remove it, then wrap the leads from the new cap on the same connection and solder. The direction of the new cap does not matter. jbsl
I think I can handle that! Thanks I'll send a email once the operation is done and the patient is singing. Xman
