alynmar
I am considering the purchase of a C-7 and have a question regarding placement of the speaker. Any thoughts as to on the floor vs on top of the TV. I have a 36" Toshiba but 40lbs of speaker seems like a lot to put on top of the unit. Any thought would be appreciated. dougdrake
To the extent possible, you'll want the horns on your center to be within about 18" (give or take) vertically of the horns on your front speakers. It provides a more consistent movement of sound across your screen (rather than "up" or "down" as it hits your center speaker). If you have tall speakers, you may want to put the center above the TV (on a shelf perhaps for the weight?). If your fronts are not that tall, you may also experiment with raising your front speakers off the ground to get their horns on a plane closer to the center horn. I raised my KG4s 16" off the ground to get them close to my KV-3 center which is on top of a 43" RPTV.
boa12
i have to put my center up higher. if up high make sure the center is angled down pointing at the listening position. i had to put clip holders on the front of the cabinet to keep mine from sliding off the front. ------------------ RF-3 (front), RC-3, Cornwall I (rear) Velodyne HGS-15 sub Monsterbass 400 sub cables & Monster Z-12 speak wire Sony de935 a/v receiver Sony DVP-C650D dvdp Sony Trinitron 27" tv Technics dual cassette deck Technics direct drive turntable Scientific Atlanta Explorer 2000 digital cable box rock on! jerohm
I purchased one of those brackets that are used to hang a television on the wall/ceiling from Home Depot. I have one of those Mitsubishi 40" Tubes and the C7 still looked out of place sitting on top of it.
