TheEAR
DanF could probably tell you the resistor value. If I had this Promedia set at home I would tell you,I have no Promedias at home now. DanF is the resident techie on these boards. Good luck, TheEAR(s) Now theears

TheEAR
I think DanF saw this post, and probably had no good news.If the resistor fryied its not for no reason you know may be a sign.If replaced may toast again!? Just my opinion TheEAR(s) Now theears
Dan F
You are right, Ear. The smoking of that resistor is indication of problems with the output devices as well. It's not an easy fix. I think the solution in this case was replacement of the amplifier. -djf ------------------ Klipsch ProMedia Customer Service # is 1-888-554-5665
TheEAR
Bad news,I dont know if Klipsch would sell the amp section. If they do your speakers should be A ok.The problem is the amp is the most expensive part of the system(could be from $100 to 150!). Not a cheap fix. TheEAR(s) Now theears
ufokillerz
thanks for the help, i got a new amp and it works fine. i now know the problem with the busted amp, it was the 4 blown resistors and a popped capacitator
