Frank1938
Madonna CD with Vogue on it.. OMG amazing low stuff.. And if you like her, not too bad too. The entire "Celebration" 2 disc set contains a lot of bass. Great album to listen to. Frank
Wuchak
Search for "bass hit" on youtube. You'll find a bunch of songs from a collection of CD's called bass hit that were used in car audio competitions. Once you click on a link for one of the videos go to the address bar and enter "&fmt=18" without the quotes at the end of the address and hit enter to reload the page. That code gets you the high bit rate stereo sound if it's available. It's the only way to get it in youtube and if it was uploaded, which I think the Bass Hits are, it's a dramatic difference. Sandy West
TIME WARP - Erich Kunzel & Cincinnati Pops - Telarc CD-80106 (the first two tracks should do it!) TCHAIKOVSKY 1812 - Erich Kunzel & Cincinnati Symphony - Telarc CD-80041 (the 1812 Overture reaches its zenith near the end, when the church bells and cannons come it. This was Tchaikovsky's ultimate "battle of the bands" composition.)
pauln
Hang on , if you just want really low bass from instruments strictly for testing purposes, get a 12" 45rpm record and needle drop it at 33 1/3... burn a CD; that will be some serious bass! Very low notes played long and heavy. Hz@45rpm=Hz*(33.3 / 45)@33.3rpm 80Hz becomes 60Hz 70Hz becomes 52.5Hz 60Hz becomes 45Hz 50Hz becomes 37.5Hz 40Hz becomes 30Hz 30Hz becomes 22.5Hz Depending on the source music, you should be able to make an absolutely crushing thunderous test CD, especially if the original is featuring a five string electric bass guitar... ryanc
4th of July, on Superunknown by Soundgarden. An unlikely source but has a very low bass line that persists throughout and can be quite heavy at times -- a good test of whether your setup gets muddy. By the time the song peaks you have a 4 octave difference between the bass and Chris Cornell wailing up high, plus the percussion. Generally a good test of the range of your speakers. chuckears
The Inception Blu-Ray special features disc has the music soundtrack in 5.1 - incredible bass and surround. I wish all recorded music came with this much clarity, fidelity, and power...
