? What is the deal w/questions?

I've been noticing that when someone comes to ask a question lately

they may get their arss jumped pretty good.Is it not in good taste to

either answer the ? or let it slide? Hell I'll be lucky if I'm not

attacked for mentioning it but sometimes people that are

not"audiophools"just need help or advise. They come here to ask a ? and

leave with a bad impression.Whats wrong with just trying to help and

leave your personal problems out?I would point out that its not a

majority but a VERY vocal minority thats embarrassing the whole

site,atleast me.

I just want to point out this don't apply to all the discussions of SS

or tubes or vinyl vs cd etc..if you get in those discussion its every

man/woman for themselves but PLEASE cut the newbies with a ? some slack.

Sometimes the replys get the same treatment.

Ha..good point, but those that have been here awhile know the routine.I

don't mind if the regulars do whatever, its none of my biz,and generally

funny. It can freak a newbie out though when they ask a ? and get the

treatment,unless its called for.

The question may seem like it could be answered with a search or with common sense, but the search function is next to useless. Common sense is in short supply, so simple answers will make a newbie's life a little easier.

A blizzard of questions in response can be a little bit overwhelming.

It is best to either not answer or give a simple reply that helps the newbie. It's the least that we can do for our hosts. What we do and say reflects back on Klipsch.

Couldn't agree more. I t hey are new they should be treated

properly and by and large that is pretty much the case. You can

tell the enthusiasm many here have for this hobby to be so willing to

ssnwer the same questions over and over again with patience and

understanding.

Sometimes there are too may questions, but sometimes they need to be

asked to better help out. Common courtesy is the order of the day

until we know them better, than we can light 'em up a little.[:D]

Oh and Boa, now that you made all that dough what kind of toys have you acquired that you can tell us about?

I haven't picked up on so much of that lately, so may have missed that to which you are referring.

On a good day, I think the forum reflects well the legacy of Mr. Paul. This is a pretty cool thing.

No need for ax grinding here. Hospitality and civility are in order. Mr. Paul was genuine gentleman. He still had his BS button, but always a gentleman.

I must have missed the "treatment" given to

newbies. I've seen many a nice, succinct response, followed or

preceded by, "Welcome!"

In any event, I think the newbies also

deserve to know all our combined and disparate opinions regarding the

questions they ask. Otherwise, they'd all buy Crown amps.

[:P]

Jeff, you may misunderstand the meaning of "newbie"its more than being

new to this site. Most all people here are nice and do welcome

newcomers(your case not withstanding)sorry, I did'nt mean it but could

not help myself. Not only that but some post that were a little harsh

are made by what I consider valuable members with lots of knowledge,so

I'm not gettin' down to members, its just the tone.

No doubt the newer members deserve all the combined opinions good or bad, best way is to say it so they'll hear, all imo.

As a rule they should get an extended"grace period" before its open

season(again your case not withstanding)Sorry again still could not

resist.

This whole deal is just my opinion but if I ever meet some of these

members in life I'd like to think they would consider us alright

guys/gals.

Lastly Jeff I would point out you're a special case, you've been a good sport and I admire that.

To me thats a true gentleman,he's not tellin' you anything in so

many words as to be rude.He just put the BS button up there for all to

see.

Hey, thanks, Fish! I consider the bashing to be a little "brotherly love." I'm the youngest of 5, and consequently had to learn how to take it.

There was this one fellow who was banned. I forget his name. But he took it out real hard on a guy for whining about a sub problem or something and speaking in terms of class actions. That was rough!

For all y'alls poking fun, etc., I wouldn't trade it for a million bucks! Well, wait a minute..... [;)]

"

well T, it's not that I'm another Bill Gates [8-|] it was more

like I was goin' BROKE spending all my time here instead of workin'

(I'm self-employed); & all the while buying B&K Ref 30, Ref

7270 amp, KLF-30, (2) C-7s, Marantz 8000, Monster Power Box, Nice

Stands, & all those cables & biwires, to add to my original '84

Cornwalls & Kenwood KR-9600 receiver (the beast - circa 1975).

I'm sure I left something out. Now (see below pic w/ all the

speaks still boxed)) I got the best "toy" I could - a HOUSE to match

all this stuff. The new centerpiece to build around is a

Sony SXRD LCOS 60" (see attached review from Tomlinson at Perfect

Vision). if you guys don't want to do FP, this RPTV is THE

one (at least for now until they come out w/ a 1080p that actually

takes a 1080p input - though none currently exist sans computer).

now I NEED AN ACADEMY (to replace C-7, & move it back for rear

surround). prefer the black, but any will do. after

that I'll probably be hangin' a damned Cornwall III on the wall behind

the TV. [:|]

did I put enough in this to get hazed now? LOL
