Colin
I saw <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Munich and loved the high production values for an almost documentary film. It is effective. The audience develops misgivings about the revenge work about the same time the hero does after awhile it just seems like so much senseless killing. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> http://blogs.washingtonpost.com/worldopinionroundup/ The director knows his audience, as international media reaction to the film shows. Savaged by conservative commentators in The Washington Post and New York Times, Spielberg's movie about the massacre of 11 Israeli athletes at the 1972 Olympic Games opened to positive reviews in Europe this week. Only in Israel is the film getting mostly negative reviews. [:^)]
boa12
"Savaged by conservative commentators in The Washington Post and New York Times" colin, I still want to see this film, but don't understand the above. where'd that come from, The Guardian? there are NO "conservative" commentators at neither the NY Times nor the WA Post. or are they not talkin' politics? Jay481985
Some parts of Munich is dragged on. Oh and the sex scene and the 11 israeli in the background dying was a turnoff... I consider myself openminded but that was over the top. The movie is long but I think its a bit one sided as to the reason of the slaughter.
