Daddy Dee
Anyone remember SUPERCAR?
boom3
In the late 50-s and early 60s, if my siblings were babysitting me because our parents had gone out, they'd let me sit up and watch The Untouchables and Peter Gunn, which were normally deemed off limits. In high school, when like most young people my sleep schedule went kablooey (technical term) I'd watch Perry Mason and The Untouchables reruns until I got sleepy. boom3
Anyone remember SUPERCAR? Oh yes, that and Fireball XL-5, another Gerry Anderson SuperMarionation opus. Watching these on moderrn TVs we now see the wires, but on a fuzzy monochrome TV, it was pretty amazing. I always thought (even as a kid) that the back story of "Supa cah" was that Dr. Beaker (the Brit) and Professor Popkus (the German) had found themselves out of work after WW II and decided to collaborate to build this vehicle. I also recall that Mike Mercury was forever forgetting to open the roof doors and busting through them as he lifted off.

oldtimer
Watched a lot of cartoons as a kid, this one is fairly obscure:
oldtimer
Actually I still watch cartoons, as long as they have good moral content like this one:

ScorpsFan
Oldtimer, that would be Gigantor (Which is still on in rerun on a certain satellite station in the wee hours of the morning). How about this one......
SilverSport
Gigantor...an early Japanese cartoon I believe and a favorite of mine as a wee laddy...Bob, your pic did not load...the infamous red "X"...another favorite around here...[][] Bill

Mighty Favog
O.K., who remembers the model of the experimental plane that caused Steve Austin to get his $6 million "attachments". The REAL model, not the one they mention in the show. (don't say Farah Faucet either).
bhendrix
Too easy . . . During the opening sequence of the show, the crash shown is actual footage of a crash of the M2-F2 experimental lifting body that was part of the research that eventually lead to the development of the space shuttle. Ray Garrison
One thing that has always bugged me was that in the movie "The Rocketeer" there was no mention of or homage paid to this show... Remeber him? Probably one of the only 50's SciFi shows to have a band named after it...
Jeff Matthews
It's funny that nobody I know seems to remember Ultraman. That was big-time stuff when I was about 4 or 5 years old.
Ray Garrison
...and this was the first show I ever really got hooked on...
Jeff Matthews
Okay, I know this is not a sitcom, but I remember well Marlin Perkins from the "Wild Kingdom" episodes. These were favorites on Saturdays.
Mighty Favog
It's funny that nobody I know seems to remember Ultraman. That was big-time stuff when I was about 4 or 5 years old. I used to play Ultrman with my older brother all the time. I would build a city out of my wooden blocks and he would come from behind a chair (as the monster de'jure) and try to knock down the city. If you want to see something VERY close looking to Ultraman see if you can rent Inframan somewhere. It GREAT!! Rubber monsters and all!! billyjoe72
I've never posted a picture..can you see it?
Jeff Matthews
No. If you want to post a pic that is on your computer drive, you need to attach it using the attach file feature at the bottom of the editor. If it is a link to a pic on the internet, I hear you can use the add pic feature.
