Audio Ability
My old high school has two KP 3002's as mains and I have no idea what the specs are on them. Does anybody have this info by any chance? I'm re-designing the system and replacing them anyway, but I'm still very curious. They're awsome speakers, 15 years old and still going strong (only a little woofer dryness). If anybody has some they're looking to give a good home, you've found the right guy. DrWho
Ya, I love the KP-3002's.... I believe you can get up to 130dB peaks and usable extenion down to around 40Hz. I've done shows in front of crazy college crowds as large as 800 people with just a single pair - they're freaken tanks. I too would love to get my hands on some of the real specs...I always wondered why there is no sign of the 3002 on the website...
mvdrums
Hi Joe, I have some kp 3002's, and some kp 302's that are taking up space in my garage. I have one pair of each. (I believe they are the same exact same box). I also have 8 kp 480 18" subs. I figured I would contact this forum before I put them up for sale. They are all in excellent shape, ready to rock, and ROCK they do[].......Matt Jordan
Audio Ability
Hey Matt, Would you be willing to send me some good quality pictures of the 3002s and the 302s? I am interested in them, but cannot spend a whole lot of money on them however. How much do you think you would be willing to sell and ship the 3002's to Irvine, CA (92603)? I understand if you would rather see what prices come up on ebay or something like that. But thanks for replying to my message nonetheless. My email address is Audio_Ability@hotmail.com. Thanks again. Joe
Rory B.
Matt, I'm contacting you about the KP 480 subwoofers. I might be interested in a pair later on this summer, if you'd be willing to split them up. Anyway, go ahead and give me an email at rbuszka(at)purdue.edu. I'm finally piecing together a live sound system and I'm interested in unconventional gear. These KP480 seem unconventional indeed, with the passive radiator design. They may be going below a pair of Community SLS918. Also, what about the 15" slot-loaded passive radiators -- do they need to be refoamed or do they use a rubber or fabric surround?
dansoundman
Hello all, I currently have a pair of KP-3002's and they are indeed great speakers. From those of you who posted earlier, is there still a pair of 3002's or 302's still up for sale? I am looking to get two more if i can find them. Thanks! Klipsch Employees Trey Cannon Posted August 2, 2006 Klipsch Employees Share Posted August 2, 2006 Hey Dan, do you know me?
dansoundman
No, I don't believe so. Seeing that you work for Klipsch, do you know what the difference is between the KP-302 and the KP-3002? Or is it simply a change in model number? Thanks, Dan
DrWho
3002 = trapezoidal shape 302 = square, no?
dansoundman
Are the specs for these cabinets different? Do they have the same drivers? I have seen the specs for the 302s on the website but not the 3002s. -Dan
ProFemme
The difference is that the KP-3002 was a carpeted speaker; the KP-302, non-carpeted. The internal workings/drivers are identical for both models.
