bi-wireing

I was recently advised that a good way to bi-wire my RF3 and RC3 was to use two different size gauge wires. The suggestion given by an audio store rep was to use a lower gauge (say 12) for the bottom connections and a higher gauge (say 16) for the top connections on the speakers. This setup is suppose to enhance the hi's and Lo's which will improve sound quality.

Has anyone heard of this?

Is there any risk to the speakers in this type of setup?

I think that this is a way to not waste money. The theory is that it takes a larger gauge to carry the lower frequency than it does to carry the high. I am using 2 different sizes but only because that is what I had at the time. If you buy cable in bulk then there is no need to use 2 different sizes. Someone might be able to find some physics formula that says otherwise but I doubt that there are ears that can tell

Come on honey why can't I spend some more money?
