hooligan
I noticed a thread or two a while back about the rc-3 getting a little scratchy when people yell. I'm having the same experience, but it seems to happen mostly on older DVD's (ie. hunt for red october - I hear it; gladiator - I don't). music sounds fine. boa12 or anyone with similar concern: did you ever figure out the cause? I've thought about inappropriate support (it's just sitting on a shelf below TV) or possibly cabinet resonance? thanks
boa12
yea hool, I eventually self-determined that it's not the speaker, it's the source - my sony receiver and/or the program material. i also get it w/ DD prologic programs from the dig cable box. turning down the effect setting on my sony receiver seems to help a lot. bet you've never got it w/ a dvd in DTS. those crystal for me. so i think it's a combo of DD material w/ 2much effect gain. ------------------ RF-3 (front), RC-3, Cornwall I (rear) Velodyne HGS-15 sub Monsterbass 400 sub cables & Monster Z-12 speak wire Sony de935 a/v receiver Sony DVP-C650D dvdp Sony Trinitron 27" tv Technics dual cassette deck Technics direct drive turntable Scientific Atlanta Explorer 2000 digital cable box rock on!
