mtbsej
It looks like the RT12 and RT10 specs are online now. Pretty Cool. I'm sure that there is lot more to it once we hear them but it is still interesting. Jonathan
DrWho
The real cat's meow is supposed to be the onboard DSP. But at 120dB down to 20Hz that is plenty of output.
Jay481985
the rt12 mimics the rsw15 specs and the rt10 mimics the rsw12 outputs.... in a smaller lighter package (30 pounds less for the rt12d and rsw15 comparison) also smaller package. I wonder how the room eq is though
MrMcGoo
The RSW-15 weighs 85 pounds; the RT-12d weighs 71 pounds. The box must be well built on the 12d. Bill
DrWho
Well the 12d is also a smaller cabinet with a smaller driver. I'd wager the box constructions are of equal quality - the new driver just has way more excursion capability.
Jay481985
I bet the box is a bit stronger structurally due to the triangular shape nature. Since the corners are closer there is less chance of flex.
prodj101
I really hate the kind of finish they decided on for the front of it. Ick is all I have to say....
Zen Traveler
I don't think these subwoofers exist. [:^)] Have any of you seen one?
Jay481985
they were released on the website a week ago meaning that the subwoofer is probably hitting stores now. They ship when they release the specs and webpage.
Hunt
Went to my local "Ovation" store last Friday to see if they were in stock. Nothing yet. Still closing out a lot of old stuff. I guess I've gotten spoiled. In the old days, I would walk into their "listening rooms" and be blown-away by all the fantastic gear. Now it all seemed to be a hodge-podge of mediocre stuff, and some guy older than me asking the salesman if he really needed 5 speakers to get surround sound. Went home and fell in love with my RF-7 system all over again. Moved my SV subwoofer to the rear-corner of my room, re-calibrated, and decided to save a couple grand. CECAA850
The real cat's meow is supposed to be the onboard DSP. But at 120dB down to 20Hz that is plenty of output. I thought I read that the 120 dB figure was at 30 Hz. Big difference.
DrWho
Ya, big difference...the way the +-3dB specs work out it'll be -6dB at 20Hz or 114dB at 20Hz max.
Jay481985
aren't those specs the same as the now defunct rsw-15?
