Chris Elm
Inspired by Amy's thread, I think it would be nice to start a collection of pictures of all the rare finishes or otherwise rare speakers. One of the neatest things about Klipsch IMO is the variety of different ways you could get your speakers suited to your tastes throughout history. So if you have some pictures, show me some Teak, Rosewood, Cherry, shorthorns, maybe Gary's Zebrawood Corns, or Khorn51's split birch/cane La Scalas. Gilbert, this is the thread for you! I'll get the party started by posting Funkyhambone's 61 Mahogany Type B KHorns.

colterphoto1
Guys, if I could interject here. I mean no disrespect to this thread starter of those who have posted thus far, merely trying to give some tips. If at all possible, without damaging your precious Heritage speakers to get the photos, could you consider using these techniques? Try to get the speakers in a shady spot outdoors or in front of a large window for natural lighting. Flash tends to bounce off of shiny surfaces or leave glare and also can mess with the color or texture of your more exotic woods. Take an overall photo, then a carefully focused closeup of the grain structure so we can see the wood grain. If at all possible, try for a uncluttered background, remove nic-nacs (which shouldn't be there in the first place). Images for Forum viewing need only be 72 dpi and about 6 inches in the long dimension. This will insure that they can pop up on screen quickly. Please retain the large files straight from the camera in case Amy might want them for publication, so use the SAVE AS.. when resizing in your image viewer software. Thanks Michael

They are very very rarely offered. Not many were made and the large majority went overseas (to the Far East). I'd forget about buying them if I were you.

ColonialHoo
Hey Gary. I can see my Thorens in there! I know they are not an original finish, but when I get a few decent shots of my Zebrawood Decorator Heresies (again, thanks Gary), I'll throw them up here. And Michael, your decorators are just beautiful. Hadn't seen them before, but I just got a glimpse of them in Amy's thread, and they look really sharp. This should be a fun thread. ColonialHoo
I don't know, Gary. Those look like they might have a pretty hollow sound. I think mine sound a bit more full. Chuck
