Parrot
i have been reading here and called tech support (klipsch) and they say LaScale or cornwall 3's but no one has said anything about the Belle Probably because the Belle Klipsch isn't made anymore. If you want to buy new, you can't get the Belle. For all intents and purposes, the Belle Klipsch and La Scala sound identical. The Belles simply look much nicer. If you want to buy used, La Scalas are cheaper but Belles aren't all that expensive either. New Belles were almost up there in price with Klipschorns. Parrot
They should do the trick. Every so often someone here sells a pair (like yesterday) and they're always on eBay. Try to pick them up in person (although I guess you already know that).

Coytee
Actually Buckette... You'll find that you can turn your hearing aids down MUCH further with teenager speakers and STILL hear them a-plenty. [6]

classichits
I have a set of lascalas for sale. They sound great. Made in 1978. My brother bought them new. I have owned them for about 5 years now. No room in house for them. I used them for djing. They have type AA crossovers. The cabinets are oak veneer. there is some damage to veneer. I have pictures if you are interested. I am asking $900.00 for the pair. I live in northern Ontario Canada. My email is classichitz@yahoo.ca.

It depends on what "good bottom end" is for you. La Scalas have excellent bass, but don't go down as low as subwoofers. If you're used to the sound of subs, you'd miss them if you had La Scalas only. Some of us would never have subs in our music systems, while others think it's essential.
edwinr
Personally I don't think a La Scala needs a sub, but if you were to add a sub, it would have to be something that could keep up with the sheer speed of these speakers. Something like the sub depicted below might do...
