Christina
I'm finally thinking of jumping in and purchasing some Klipsch speakers and I just saw that someone posted Klipsch RF-83 & Klipsch RT-12d on Audiogon. Are they a good deal? http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?spkrfull&1165425940 http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?homesubw&1165425941
Zen Traveler
Hi Christina, The price seems fair, but a bit high for taking a chance, unless this person is local and you can see and hear the speakers for yourself, imo. I would call your local Klipsch dealer and tell them you are REALLY considering this Audiogon offer but wanted to see if they would sell you those items NIB (New in Box). They might say yes--or they may have a display model they can sell you. That way you have a merchant to deal with and will have the 5 year warranty (or 2 year as I think the sub will be) for that price. BTW, I have not bought any audio equipment from the Internet but am always using the prices I find to wheel and deal with the merchants that want to keep my business.[H] Good luck. Daddy Dee
I think you've gotten some pretty good advice above. These prices are o.k., but still a considerable investment. I would also recommend finding out what you could purchase these for direct from an authorized dealer. Things can be beaten to death in shipping and the authorized dealer will make sure the goods meet your satisfaction. IMO, the used price should be pretty good in order to compensate for the risk one takes in the transaction.

Christina
It might be worth making the person a offer to see if they would accept a lower offer, especially if a couple of items are purchased. http://cgi.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cl.pl?spkrfull&1165425940 http://cgi.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cl.pl?spkrmoni&1165503659 http://cgi.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cl.pl?spkrmoni&1165526857 http://cgi.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cl.pl?homesubw&1165425941
