paul cbc
Joe, As others have noted-they look good! You can check them out in person before buying-listen to them and inpect cosmetic condition. Saving at least $100 in potential shipping costs. Nice deal. Good luck! Paul
Hardhead
Those Cornwalls shouldn't have the square magnet K-77-M's. Those Cornwalls are 1977 models and would have had the round magnet Alnico K-77 tweeters installed originally. The square magnet K-77-M's didn't come out until 1980. In other words, the tweeters have been replaced if they actually are the K-77-M's. Perhaps the original tweeters were blown, which may indicate hard use (abuse), but perhaps they were simply updated. The K-77-M tweeters are 2-3 dB louder than the K-77's. The Type "E" crossovers were designed for the K-77 and don't take into account the louder volume of the newer tweeter. Don't be surprised if those Cornwalls sound a bit harsh because of the louder tweeter, if, in fact, the K-77-M's are actually installed. Hardhead, It think the guy just copied the Klipsch blurb on the Cornwall. They likely have the alnico K-77s if they are from 1977. Also, they should have type B crossovers not type E. But, discussing the type E for the Heresy, Klipsch did not change the crossover's tweeter section at all when the change from K-77 alnico to K-77M occured. Audible Nectar
Agree with Bob. I also think he just did a "cut and paste" of the Klipsch specs. Even if he did swap the tweeters, you COULD swap them/trade if necessary (doubt he did, though). If the drivers all work, this is a BUY price....and when factoring in local availability, it is as good of situation as can be if you are in the market for Cornwalls. Shipping these is a PAIN - and it's risky.
