A Velodyne techie told me to put the sub in the corner shooting down the long wall. It is supposed to give you about 3 to 9 db additional bass. It did not work for me, because in the integration of the bass for the Cornwalls and my Velodyne sub it dramatically overstated the 40db range. But it was definitely higher output in that position. Worst case, you make the sub not work so hard for the same output.

Mike.

I agree with what blklab said. That is how I set up my sub, PW-2200. I placed it in my listening position, moved around the room, no sound meter needed, as I could tell a "hot spot" when I found one. Best location was about even with my sofa, 4' away from prime location, firing towards the front speakers, along a 14' wall, about 3.5' from the back wall. An added benefit: the love seat sits in front of the sub and it rumbles with movies and music. Kinda cool!
