Anyone use Rythmik audio subs?

No experience with their subs, but I just got 12 of their A250 amps shipped to my apartment...the purchase process was a bit wierd. No forms to fill out, just sent a paypal payment [:o] (very unsettling) - but everything has arrived so I guess nothing to worry about.

Okay, so inquiring minds want to know.....what are you going to do with 12 amps and 3kw of power? Since you didn't mention drivers, I assume you didn't get the servo version. Did you look at the Linkwitz Transform add-on board? (Though I think it may be driver specific.)

Brian has a little differnt way of doing business, but he is well regarded by everyone I have read about that has dealt with him. I was particularly impressed by the up-front manner in which he handled a QC issue with the initial run of his second generation 12" servo driver. He quickly identified the problem working in concert with the supplier TC Sounds, and he replaced all affected units or offered a refund if the customer preferred. He also provides excellent and patient customer support.

Ya, he was very good with his emails....never answered the phone though

[;)] The amps are for a subwoofer workshop I'm teaching...3.5 cubic

foot sonotube enclosures with an Ascendant Audio 12" Assassin - the

whole thing costs $300 finished and I must confess I am extremely

impressed...I can't wait to get all 16 hooked up and blasting away in a

single room [H]

Anyways, we're taking advantage of the customizeable "bass boost" EQ in

the A250 amps. We're going with a 20Hz tuning so I was hoping to come

as close as possible to a 3dB peaking 2nd order highpass at 24Hz. I was

told that I would need to go with a "16Hz tuning" to get the transfer

function I was seeking....we paid the extra $5 for the filter and I

noticed they went ahead and did the actual filter I was wanting - which

was a few caps and a resistor (a bit more complicated than the simple

resistor mod they normally do). I haven't measured the voltage response

of the amp, but I'm fairly confident we got taken care of.

If I had the cash laying around I would really like to experiment with

their servo products. I know in our emails I've been a bit skeptical of

the idea, but I realized I might have been a bit misled in that

skepticism. Just one of those things that you gotta your ears be the

judge.

I have a Rythmik Audio A250SE (specail edition) amp with the switchable 12/24dB per octave crossover and upgraded caps. The amp is currently coupled with a Dayton 12" DVC subwoofer driver perfectly tuned to a .707 sealed enclosure (the driver is Dayton's version of the Shiva). I love the amp and the sealed sub sounds great with music and movies.

Brian at Rythmik Audio is just a small operation, but he is great to deal with and I expect his stuff will continue to gain in popularity (and price). Get his stuff now while it is fairly inexpensive.
