Moderators dtel's wife Posted November 23, 2006 Author Moderators Share Posted November 23, 2006 Is gambling back up yet in Bay St Louis? Last time I was there years ago I believe it was Casino Magic. Duran (Mr. No Mas) was fighting some no name that night. Congrats on all the nuptials. That's jumping in the fire there Colter, especially if they are all on the same day. We told Michael there is no pressure with photographing the wedding. We don't expect monkeys to jump out his...well you know what I mean. We are all pretty laid back and easy going. We really wanted him to come for a visit and this seemed like a perfect opportunity. There are not a whole lot of "triple weddings" and if I am not mistaken Michael says this is a first for him also. JT According to my parents (they live in Pass Christian) - yes. Mom & Dad said it wasn't any where near as nice as the old Casino Magic (it's smaller) and the food isn't as good either. We heard the same thing about the new casino. Actually we weren't terribly impressed with Casino Magic's food prior to Katrina. OTOH - there's a new Casino opening up pretty soon in Clermont Harbor (east of Bay St, Louis and Waveland) that's suppose to be very nice. There is an excellent casino in Biloxi. The Imperial Palace has some of the best food we have tasted, as far as buffets go. dtel's....please make sure you take Michael to Beningo's (behind St. Stanislaus) in Bay St. Louis and show the man what a roast beef po-boy is with gravy and all the dressings. Heck - order him a shrimp po-boy and Barq's too! [] (sigh........me getting home sick.) Dtel says he wants to find Beningo's. BTW, I heard from a very reliable source that Rocky and Carlo's, down in da Parish will be reopening after the lst of the year. They have completely renovated the place, from top to bottom, and it's "sparkling clean". Pretty amazing feat for Rocky and Carlo's. I hope the food is still good.[*-)] BTW - I'l be visiting my parents for Christmas from the 23rd to the 29th. My birthday is Christmas Day and I was hoping we could do something to celebrate within a day or two of Christmas. Let us know if you want to try to get together. Tom We were going to drive along the coast so Michael could see it with the Katrina remodel, we will go look for Beningo's, I could use one of them po-boy's myself . Also plan to show him St Bernard, 9th ward, NO East and the french Quarter during the day. If dtel and Michael go to St. Bernard, 9th Ward or New Orleans East at night I think I will stay home.[N] We will also bring him back to the French Quarter at night, wish it was Mardi Gras time, he would not belive Bourbon St on Mardi Gras day . [] That's what I'm talking about.[] Also would like to take him to the House of Seafood in Bush La, it's not a fancy place at all, but they have a seafood buffet with all the local seafood boiled or fried, raw oysters and good deer sausage. Almost hurt myself last time we went there ! Any of you locals that have not been to House of Seafood need to get there when you get a chance. The food is unbelievable.[]

I did Mardi Gras once & that was enough; to crowded & to many idiots for me. Arky, we aim to please and always enjoy having company. Everybody needs "to do" Mardi Gras at least once. As a rule, we don't attend the parades. When we go to New Orleans for Mardi Gras, we head to the French Quarter to see the sights and hear the sounds. It makes me feel good to see there are people more idiotic than me.[]
dtel's niece
Hey everybody! I've been enjoying reading the posts w/ Aunt C & Uncle E (the original dtel's). You guys are like a family, its really amazing. Michael, I am so excited to meet you and have you photograph our wedding. I told them that although you guys want a few days to visit and have speaker system talk, we all want to hang out with you as well. I just hope you aren't too freaked out by all 9 of us living here. Its a laugh a minute, and the most fun I've ever had. So, we joke, but its great! You'll have fun, I am sure of that. Oh, and if we pick on you, just know you fit right in and love you like one of our own. We tend to adopt people as members of our "freak show." Sad that I'm from St. Bernard and I never really acquired a taste for seafood, however, Bush's House of Seafood is very good. There is a lot to do while in NOLA and I just hope you see in this city what we've all known and loved, and leave out the parts that aren't so loveable. Oh, and congrats on your new position at Klipsch, that's so cool! I understand we'll be meeting more of the Klipsch peeps over the holidays ..... can't wait! And if Uncle E & Aunt C can "educate" me about the speakers and Klipsch lingo, we might even tag along to Indy with them. I heard the AR trip was out of this world. And not just because of their grand prize Cornwall III's.
colterphoto1
Thanks for all the welcomes, hope I live up to all the hype! I hear we're getting blasted with snow here and they're predicting dire situations around airports, especially Ohare. Luckily I'm flying through Atlanta to get down south, but I'll have to get out of Indy first. Cross fingers. (and for Macy Grey too!- hope she comes home soon- it's cold out there) Michael
colterphoto1
Christy- you up tonight? Wanting to get some final thoughts on weather for the week so I can pack tomorrow. Truth be told, I'm always pretty nervous about flying. I don't mind the travel and the airports, but liftoff always scares the fertilizer out of me! I don't mind the travel and the airports, but liftoff always scares the fertilizer out of me! M Hey Michael. I'm up tonight, barely. I'm having a serious upper respiratory attack, although it is probably stress related. I have been sick for the last three days, working outside in the cold and basically have very little of my voice left at this point. In case anyone else reads this...I'm not whining, just stating the facts. We have about two hours of work tomorrow to complete this irrigation project for one of our clients and then we will have two weeks off to play. The weather should be in the mid 50's to 60's during the day and mid 20's to mid 30's at night. I would still pack a few hot weather items just in case. BTW, I would be more nervous about coming to stay in this house with nine "psychos". You will go home at the end of your visit here and feel "way normal". On a more serious note, I do not like to fly. I do not "take-off", "in flight" or "landing", therefore we will be driving to Indy in June of 07. I don't think there is anywhere I want to visit bad enough to fly. I need you to send me your cell phone number, if you have one, so we can find you once you get to the airport. There are two different levels to exit the airport and I need to know which one you will be exiting.

sputnik
I'd be careful around that dtel bunch - I suspect that they're a cult of some kind. See RIP Tommy Bolin in the 2ch forum. ok I lied about signing off- you all know I'm always up at 4 am, right? I NEED SOME SUGGESTIONS PLEASE........... I talked to Michael last night and he is experiencing some serious anxiety over this trip. He even told me he is not good at "vacations". He said, "Okay I will tell you the truth, I am not really that "laid back" guy people think I am. I'm really high strung." Any suggestions on what we can do to get him to relax and enjoy his time down here? Maybe he should drink the "Kool Aid".
jt1stcav
Micheal's missing cat is probably constantly on his mind as well...the photoshoot is a cakewalk, so that wouldn't stress him out, even with three weddings at once! Just being there altogether to hang out with him may help him relax, and you've already got that planned out. He may also need some "alone" time so he can regroup his thoughts, so allow him a little space if he needs it. If all else fails, drop him off at a NO brothel for a night...then again, he may explode, so maybe that's not such a good idea![] Just do what you've all planned to do. I think Michael will be just fine once he's exposed to your southern hospitality.[]

Moderators dtel's wife Posted December 4, 2006 Author Moderators Share Posted December 4, 2006 Just heard from Michael. He's at the airport in Indy, so it looks like he is overcoming some of the anxiety associated with flying. He said to let everybody know he is back on his "Diet Rock Star" and he hopes none of you are the lucky ones that get to sit by him on the airplane.[] I have never tried "Rock Star" so I am not sure what effect it may have on someone???? Michael will have his own bedroom here and six acres to get "lost" on, so I don't think alone time will be too difficult to achieve. Dtel says he wishes he knew where a "brothel" was located because he might consider dropping Michael off for a few hours. On the other hand, I think we may never see him again if we do that. So, we better wait till the last day of his visit for the "brothel" deal.[] Amy, if Michael doesn't show up for work at Klipsch on the 12th let everyone know what happened.[] I think he will be fine once he realizes that we are all just as insane as he is.[*-)] We are scheduled to pick Michael up at MSY (Louis Armstrong Airport) in New Orleans at 2:45 p.m., so I am sure he will be suffering serious "jet lag". Thanks for the kind words.
