redraiderjim
I currently have a pair of "BEC" Heresy I's and I'm thinking of getting the SVS sub for the lows OR getting a pair of Fortes (20 years old). I've heard the Forte's will light it up with the HK3480 I have. LOVE my Heresy's, just need BASS.
SilverSport
perhaps this may help...I have 2 pair of BEC Heresys...love them...I have Quartets as well (slightly smaller Forte IIs)...properly set up due to the rear passive radiators, the Quartets have more bass...I listen with Tubes (EICO HF-81) and SS (Outlaw Audio Home Theater)...hope this helps and good luck! jcmusic
I have a pair of Forte II's in my second system, being pushed by a Scott 299 very nice sound and more than enough bass. Jay

Jay I also have a pair of Forte II's being pushed by a Scott 299 and it sounds better than very nice - EVEN!
jcmusic
I couldn't agree with more, but different people hear a little differently. So I just say nice and let them be the final judge. Jay
oldbuckster
SVS with the Heresy's...........................I find the heresy's mid range to be smoother than Forte's, but everyone has their own opinion, I always felt the mid range in the Forte's to be a tad harsh as compared to heresy's mid............... tom b. 57
I am also using a Scott 299D with a pair of Forte's. They do seem to have plenty of bass and sound fantastic. I must admit that the purchase of the Forte's was one of my wisest purchases. The 299 really kicks butt when I get the two pairs of Cornwalls and the Forte's going at the same time. The Forte's are some great speakers. Tom
oldbuckster
No matter what kind of speakers I've heard, the Scott 299 has always sounded good driving them, and they sound good on the bottom end without having a sub................they are quite the amp for their wattage rating............I understand why people like them so much................... wuzzzer
Well, I don't have Heresys and unfortunately have never heard them in person. But, my Forte II + HK3480 + SVS sounds mighty fine to me!!
DrWho
For 2-channel music listening I would vote for Forte over Heresy + Sub....but it will depend on the music to which you listen. Now if there is going to be any movie watching whatsoever, then I would vote for the Heresy + SVS combo...
oldbuckster
I think in this thread anyway, it's more about the SCOTT 299 than the speakers. That Scott would sound good with either, or any speaker for that matter, just a nice all around power unit........................Ask the same question without mentioning the Scott 299............. colterphoto1
I thought the Heresy was manufactured by Klipsch, when did it become a BEC product? Or are they some 'supercharged' Heresies?

How about Nos/Valves 299? The NOS/Valves 299 is a real nice unit..................doesn't matter what speaker you want to mention...............I think the amp has more effect on the speaker...............than the speaker has on the amp...............does that make any sense? boomac
I have a Nos/Valves Scott 299. Ive used it with KG 2.5s, Heresys, Quartets, Forte IIs and Cornwalls. It is a fine integrated amplifier. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Someone mentioned BEC Heresys and Michael commented that he thought Klipsch manufactured Heresys and asked when did BEC start makin' them. I found the comments odd. You know - there's BEC Heresys McLeran Ford Dallara Chevy Nos/Valves 299 etc.
