Cornwall Woofer

Unfortunately, after 25 years, the woofer on my Cornwall tore and needs replacement. 2 questions:

1. Where can I find a replacement woofer?

2. Is the replacement woofer such that it will have an effect on the sound thereby having to replace both woofers?

Any help here is greatly appreciated. I sorely miss playing my music!

Another choice is to have them re-coned with 15162 kits. Most shops that do this will only charge about $60 each, so you will end up with a matched pair of 'new' drivers (for about the cost of one new driver that may or may not match the other).

Dennis mentioned a kit for the K-33 earlier.  When I checked with Eminence, they told me that the only kits they made that were right for the K-33 were exclusively made for Klipsch.  They said that the only 4 ohm voice coil they made at that time was made for Klipsch for the K-33, so any other kit would have an 8 ohm voice coil.

So, if you want a genuine Klipsch K-33 kit, you should be able to buy one from Klipsch or since I probably no longer think I might get into reconning, I would sell you a few of the Klipsch kits I have if you want some.

You can go to this thread to see what is in the kit and see me installing one of the kits.

You might want to get a pair of the cast woofers from BEC. I bought my first pair a few months ago and the added bass was a big difference. It is well worth the very small investment to "upgrade" the woofs. I own 3 pair of Cornwalls and just finished building a pair using the CW1526C woofers from Bob. Definitely 2 thumbs up!! If you do change over you will need longer mounting screws as the cast frames are thicker.
