j-malotky
The best Heli flyers I have seen are the hospital "flight for life" pilots. I have seen them come in for landing, with a patent on board, constant velosity, no pitch, perfectly flat from 1000 feet to the pad without a single bounce and extremely minimal correction. Very Impressive. JM
IB Slammin
Nice toe-in. I have stepped on and off of birds in much worse landing zones than that. (non-military, just going to work) But, never a craft that big. The rush comes when the craft isn't touching anything when you board, and you are above 10,000 feet in a thunder storm. Point of order: No one was shooting at us! Man, we requested and loved the old Nam era Med-Evac pilots. In four years, I NEVER spent a night on the mountain, and I know they put themselves at risk in getting me down. Altitude, wind, hail, snow be hanged, those guys always got me home before dark. Hats off to you, and the new guys too. tc

Guest " "
Sometimes I miss those days. I spent10 years in ARMY aviation. A lot of the ARMY's helicopters are over 40 years old.
HarryO
Back in the late 60's I was as crazy as it got. At least 'til I ended up onboard the helos'. They knew no fear. My hat was off then and now. Semper Fi HarryO
