Glenn: You have an email from me. Great photos, great stuff guys. I got to about page 8 of this thread and had to fastforward, did anyone run into Luther (Wardsweb) at AKFest? He is my buddy from San Antonio and the webmaster of the AK Forum.

Well that is two things I just have to to, AK Fest, Rocky Moutain Fest, after I go to KlipschFest.

Travis: You have an email. Thanks! -Glenn

Indy: Yeah, let me know what you think after you give the demos a viewing! I picked up 3 DVDs this morning. The two movies on your suggestion:

Casino Royale

Star Wars I: The Phantom Menace - This is the one with that Pod Race Sequence!

Bon Jovi: This Left Feels Right, Live - An acoustic-ladden concert of their best hits (2003 in New Jersey)

Audio Flynn: I heard you were pretty sick last weekend. Are you feeling any better now? -Glenn

Thanks for asking

Every couple of years business travel in excess combined with new found allergies in middle age cause me to get real close if not in the throes of pneumonia.

Had my first Mexico wedding in 13 years of business in Mexico on Friday last week (night one of AK) put me over the edge.

A bit tired but with clear lungs. We began demo;ition on our HT /family room this AM. About a one month project. Certainly nothing even remotely like the Picky room in magnitude of project.[Y]

Priority one is family room. HT components remain unchanged. There will be dedicated audio and video circuits separate from lighting and maybe an earth ground. Everything else is flooring drywall and lighting.

One of these days I will get in on one of the Picky open houses so close but such annoying schedule conflicts.

As far as my experience....are you seriously asking or just trying to make a point? I've shared quite a bit about my past on the forum over the years, but I'm more than willing to provide a summary if you're not just trying to start an argument. I very much dislike pissing matches. I'm even willing to go into details if that's what you want. I might ask the same favor in return though as I too enjoy learning where people are coming from. There's certainly no shortage of different backgrounds on the forum.

Btw, I'm 23.

Not trying to start an argument, not at all. It should be quite obvious what I was doing,.... as you noted.... I'm making a point, not trying to, but making it.

Within this topic, somewhere between that ignorant 100hz melody response, and the comment, as interpreted, to the TT guy... I snapped and lost my temper.

No summary needed, please spare me, (that should please Dean too). As already mentioned, I wanted to bring somethings to light, and you eloquently dodged the oportunity to bring it to fruition.

I, and all but 1 of the people who emailed me regarding my post, find it amazing (to put it politely) that you have such stern opinionated responses, yet have no real experience, severly limited at best. Or is that incorrect?

That's it, in a nut shell. Good luck with your study's, I here your an EE major.

Audio Flynn: Yeah, Rick, I know exactly what you mean about traveling, especially to other countries like Mexico. I did a fair amount of traveling myself years ago for Ford when I was a Launch Engineer. I believe there really is something to the assertion that air travel spreads a lot of germs among the plane's occupants. How could it not with all of the air recirculation that takes place, not to mention the touching of surfaces, etc.? I too, share your misfortune with allergies. I did contract a nasty case of bronchitis this year about 6 weeks ago. It's the first time for me in several years that I'd gotten so sick. I am still suffering some of the damage it did to my larynx, ala laryngitis. I'm glad to know you are feeling better.

Your description of your project sound fairly aggressive, especially the one-month time table. I wish you lots of luck with it and please post some photos when it is finished. I'd love to see it first hand some day as we do live so close to one another. Please know that when you are ready, you are welcome to come by our place. There's no need to wait for a "formal" open house to occur! -Glenn

Time table is tough but I do bring in experienced contractors for some of the items I do not have recent experience with. Should not exceed 6 weeks.

Funiest part of it is lookingat the 55 inch Sony LCD rear projector on my 2 channel stand between the Belles in my smaller living room. 10 pounds in a 5 pound bag scenario. I will post a picture of that this week.

Would it even matter if you/they were incorrect? Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems I have the priviledge of being criticized because I have a different opinion and happen to be younger. Ironically I have quite a bit of experience...certainly less than many on the forum, but far more than one would normally have for my age. But really, it doesn't take "real experience" (whatever that means) to form an opinion. By all means, disagree with my opinions, but let's provide better reasons other than "you're too young, stubborn, and stupid to appreciate anything of real musical value". And let's not argue about the facts either as they are so easily demonstrated. My apologies if I don't subscribe to the sound of audiophile magic. Last I checked, a real piano didn't sound like the fancy finish on a speaker, or the warm glow of pretty lightbulbs.

Is this your current take on tube amplification, Dr. Who? "pretty lightbulbs"?

Not the first example humilty and common sense being lacking in this generation. I have a 23 year old daughter who is in Bio Chem at U of M, she provides me a couple of examples every month. And now I get Who for additional inexperienced commic relief. Better than TIVO ing sitcoms!
