jperrewe
Figured I could find out faster here than e-mail to the dealer. Guess I should have thought about this sooner. Do the RS-3 II surrounds come with any type wall mounting kit? If not, has anyone found a good kit for side wall application? Later
PhilH
jperrewe: The RS-3II's have two metal surrounded holes in the back of each speaker to hang them on two screws mounted on the wall. Due to the weight of the speakers, make sure you put the screws in studs so they will hold the weight. PhilH
jperrewe
PhilH, Thanks for the info. Should receive the speakers next week. Hope they meet my expectations. Later
chuckears
I am also interested in the RS-3's... will a quality hollow-wall anchor suffice? My best placement option is between two wall studs... ------------------ Klipsch Fortes, Oiled Oak McCormack DNA-1 Power Amp McCormack TLC Pre-Amp Adcom GCD-700 CD Player NHT SA3 Subwoofer Amp Hsu TN1220 Subwoofer Old Akai cassette Deck Akai AAR22 used as tuner Nordost Solar Wind interconnects Kimber 4TC Speaker Cable
toddvj
Chuckears, You should be okay. That's how I have had mine mounted for over a year, and no problems.
kleggatt
I have a similar question. I have my RS-3's between studs as well and I just have them mounted to the wall with those plastic plugs for drywall and #12 screws. Do you think that this will hold or should I mount them a different way?
SickPuppy
Plastic wall inserts!! Geez thats scary! I wouldnt think that would hold, but if you have them mounted that way then who am I to argue..... I would find something more substantial if it were me though. The Idea of one of those things falling to a hard floor is depressing..
kleggatt
The plastic inserts seem to be holding up OK but I do not know if they are sufficient enoungh to hold the weight of the RS-3. Any recommendations on what I can do for a really cheap stand?
lovedrummin
I second Klegatt's question about speaker stands for the RS3s. Due to the set up in my living room I'm unable to wall-mount mine. I hope within the next year to be able to put my system in another room where this will be possible. Right now mine are sitting on the end tables at each end of our sofa. Needless to say this is not near being optimum placement and I'm not close to reaping the benefits of the RS3s. Any suggestions for stands to get them up higher as a temporary measure would be greatly apprciated. ------------------ Lew Not Too Old To Rock 'N' Roll
