Question regarding Sub replacement under warranty

I have a question about the warranty for equipment that was replaced during the warranty period. I had a RW12 under warranty that Klipsch replaced with the newer RW12D. Roughly 10 months to a year had passed between the replacement. I am wondering if there is a new 5 year warranty applied effective to when I received the new RW12D, or if it is still under the original RW12 purchase date? I have spoken to my dealer and they were not sure, but they thought it may be tied into the original date of purchase for the defective RW12. They were going to contact their Klipsch rep and see what he had to say. Has anybody else had to get something replacement under warranty, and did they receive a new sales receipt to reflect the date of ownership for warranty purposes? Just trying to make sure all is covered. Thanks.

I would call klipsch on monday and ask for yourself. I am not sure how warranty replacement works.

With most companies, the warranty period starts on the date of the original purchase. If the item fails in the last week of the warranty and is replaced, the new item's warranty expires that week. Otherwise, customers could keep bringing in "defective" units every time the expiry date approached, making it into an unpaid-for lifetime warranty.

If the manufacturer or dealer is willing to repair or replace a defective purchase, they've done all they promised and all you should expect. Throwing an extension to the warranty into the deal would be surprisingly generous.
