Recommended Posts

There is one more pic that I cant post that has shows a slight scratch

on the side about the same as the ones you see...i can try to resize

later to fit them all but these deffinatlly let you see every detail of

the imperfection. in regular light and if cared for properly they may

be nearly unseen. I have talked to DoubleJ...and look to be accepting

offers after he makes a decision. fyi perfer to work via pm...

I don't know if I have done everything possible to ensure my decision

is correct. I really like the sound of them; however, my situation is

not so condusive for keeping nice newer speakers. I will be moving

quite

a bit over the next few years and I know that even with the best care

they will get damaged...I would rather they go to someone who will make

them their main speakers and really take care of them. I have the

rf-7's and they really work for me...if I get more Klipsch speakers

they will probably be either Lascalla's or K-horns. Right now I think

that I will be looking to finish my rf-7 HT and maybe start getting

into the tube amp world. But I think that the Hereseys won't recieve as

much attention as someone else would give them. If I don't get any

interest on this thread in the next few days I will step up in

visibility...new thread, audiogon, craigslist, ebay (don't want to do

that)...I will give presidence to whoever can respond to me the

fastest, and have the best mix of compensation...and ease of delivery

options. I would rather not get an extra $50 and be able to have a

worry free transfer than the alternative. Feel free to pm or email me

(claydaugherty@yahoo.com) for more pictures/info about them

Last week when I picked up my new Heresy III I had the opportunity to listen to them connected to a Cayin A88T tube amp and a Cayin CDT-17A tube CD player. To my amazement these H III sounded totally different to when I had them hooked up to my Denon 5803. It sounded like there were Subs in the room, I couldn't believe the depth and loudness of the bass, neither could the store manager. The sound was floor to ceiling and wider than the room with absolute detail and you couldn't detect where the speakers were placed.

ATM I have them hooked up to a Onkyo SR701 and they sound good but nothing like when they were connected to the Cayin tubes.

So it looks like its tubes for me in the near future. Is anybody on the forum using Cayin amps or CDP?

Regards Skeg.

Klipsch demos with a Cayin integrated and I believe a Cayin CD Player as well. All tubes of course and running that psuedo whatever mode (i forget the name for it). I'm not a tube fan at all, but the Cayin's do a decent job. I dunno if they're the best tube amps I've heard, but they're up there.

Hey all, sorry I didn't know I was supposed to set a price...never

really bought or sold anything on a forum. You all know what I got them

for, so that is a slight disadvantage...but I would like to either

trade for a juicy preamp (or equivilant tube pre),VRD amp (and I can

throw in some cash to cover the differance), or $950. I haven't really

seen these sell on here or ebay much because they are so new...so from

what I know this seems like a fair price...if I find out otherwise I

will work with whoever the highest bidder is.

I think $950 is close to market. Not recalling specifically what I've seen a couple of HIII pairs sell for on Audiogon and Ebay. Don't think it's been in the last 30 days. Seems like the prices were somewhat less, but the market price is always a range.

This is difficult for me to say, but, I feel that some feel that since these Heresy III's were had for a very good price, they should be sold for less than their actually worth. Let's think about this for a minute. If you went to the car dealer to trade in your car, that you had gotten a great deal on, that's to your benifit, not anyone elses. If the dealer said, I know it's worth more than what I'm offering you, but you bought it for less than normal, so I'm taking your good fortune in on the trade as mine also.

These speakers have an enherant value, and a smart seller is going to try to maximize that . Its almost like there's a little jealousy here.

On the other hand, since these were obtained for a bargain price, the seller should take into account turnover. The quicker they sell, the higher percentage return APY obtained from the sale, the quicker the capital used to obtain them is placed back into circulation to make another deal. How is this achieved, having the lowest price for the same item.

I feel like since the internet is so prevelant, great deals are becoming a thing of the past.

I don't think "great deals are becoming a thing of the past. " at all.

A few week's ago I saw a great deal on Craig's List, jumped on it and a few hours later had a nice pair of Chorus 1's in my living room.

Same with my 1972 Heresy's, a few hour's later, home with the booty.

The internet is like everything else, you get the bad with the good.

I appreciate everybodies input...like I said, I really don't know what

they are worth used. There are ~1500 for MSRP and I have heard that

people can get them new from the dealer for ~1250. So this price is

more than 35% off MSRP and around 25% off dealer best price. I realize

that they are used, and do have some small imperfections...that is the

cause of that discount. Perhaps I am not taking into account the

discount that we should give and would want to recieve from a fellow

forum member...so if anybody feels that they have a reasonable offer

that would take that into account please share that with me, I am not

going to pit one offer against the other and try to do this auction

style. I don't absolutly need the money and I don't absolutly need the

speakers...so I can wait, but would prefer not to. I would like to sell

them this week so we could have a transaction next weekend at the

pilgrimage, otherwise we can make arrangements to meet in Ohio/Indiana.

That is a fact that Klipsch uses both components you mention in their headquarters demo room. I heard them in person driving Khorns and LaScalas last winter.

I don't use tubes, but I can say these sounded pretty darned good, and from what I understand they are not very expensive either.

I don't need them (I have 3 pairs of Heresy that I will be selling in a few), but I'm surprised you haven't got offers like cost plus a case of beer or something along those lines.
