BLSamuel
Good to see Chuck back on a somewhat regular basis. Got a little worried with all the storms and tornadoes in North Carolina but glad he's well and Boxx and other Tornado Alley Forum members survived the somewhat recent tornado onslaught. A diet Mt Dew (pat roison?) to start the work day late. Then some sweetened blackened tea and maybe some ginger ale. Hopefully mostlly water. Working from home. Much more prodtive, especially home alone. Some nice soothing or raucous music playing. Stranded really due to our vehicles setting themselves on fire (no real damage but reinforced that one local dealer should be avoided) or just rusting apart or otherwise wearing out. Maybe time to get a scooter. Not a motorcycle (though I'd love to have one...) just one of those little ones that don't require motorcycle licensing but more importantly usable models start at $900. BigStewMan
found the bar is still open; but, had to go to page 2 to find it. quite the drive, so i'd better have just one. Got my abdominal ultrasound and bloodwork results...all normal. not sure what's causing the discomfort; but, at least the vital organs appear normal. Hope everyone is doing well. I stopped by early this Friday. I didn't know you could get breakfast here... lol.. Thanks Ben for the comment... we are all fine here, however it was a rough ride the other night; nothing compared to Missouri and other places. BLSamuel
we are all fine here, however it was a rough ride the other night; nothing compared to Missouri and other places. Some warnings here but nothing too bad locally. Oklahoma, Missouri, and North Carolina earlier, amongst other places have gotten hit hard. Some pretty serious damage in other parts of Indiana but I'm not aware of any fatalities. Late lunch washed down with some ginger ale
BigStewMan
another quiet night in the pub...greetings anyone that happens to enter. went to the ear specialist today, they did the first test and said, "You still need hearing aids!" don't have "serviceable" hearing in either ear. Got double health insurance and of course neither covers hearing aids. think i may check out the VA to see if they will for military retired folks like myself. since nobody else is here, i think i'll shut up and listen to the music...while i still have some hearing
BLSamuel
Too bad about your hearing Steve. Hopefully the VA will help out with the hearing instruments. Winding down with a Vernor's Ginger Ale

jacksonbart
Best day of the year so far here. Its sunny with a nice breeze and a high of 80 degrees after a week of high humidty and 95+ highs. . This morning was a brisk 58, supposed to dip down to 59 tonight. A fire is in my future tonight. Took the day off to do some work around the house, planting, lawn, putting together some annual planters/pots. Danm nice day. Cheers. I think this calls for a Miller High Life. Boxx
I used to attend family reunions, near Russellville in June, and yes, 95+ is hot in Arkansas. I'm sure the pool felt great....

Enjoy! The Champagne of Bottled Beers... I remember buying MHL with a fake Draft Card for ID for 88 cents a six pack. Tasted just fine then. Haven't had one in years. I'm a self confessed beer snob.... unless, of course there's nothing else availbable. []
Groomlakearea51
Having been summarily placed on a diet by SWMBO (I'm 6'1", but got over 200 lbs and she clamped down hard...), no more beer, etc. I have however, convinced her that I should be allowed at least some sake (rice wine) before supper, and one 4 ounce glass of ice cold Ouzo on Saturday afternoons while listening to some tunes. fini
Man, Marshall, I should vacation at your place to get whipped into shape by Sgt. Mrs. Groomslakearea51. I surely need it. Hard to give up beer though, as I use it for medicinal and ceremonial purposes []. I went in for my first physical in 5 years a week ago. In addition to the usual blood work, it's time for a colonoscopy. Almost got out of it, as I had a scope last time. When the Doc realized that one was only a sigmoidoscopy (kind of like an open house, as opposed to a full house inspection), he put the C-oscopy on the schedule. No big deal, but do I have to have a gastroenterologist named Lustberg? I guess it's better than having his associate Dr. Hornberger doing the probing. Real names, BTW. Groomlakearea51
You'd be more than welcome if you can get here. Here's the schedule... in MIL time so you get the "ambience"..... [] 0500: Reveille (that means get up... now... no "snoozy alarm" crap) 0515: 2 mile walk (we start with the walk, but after a couple days it's a run, son...) 0545: Chores - clean the pool - bucket water the trees (you did not think this was a wimp vacation did you!!??) 0615: Swimming in the pool (you cleaned it, you can use it - only fair...) 0645: SSS (that's a mil acronym for s*it, shower and shave) 0715: Mancave for coffee, the news and political discussions..... 0800: Off to swim practice with Michael. You will do laps for at least 30 minutes. 0900: Quick shower so you don't stink like pool bleach all day 1000: Bring Michael home and figure out what's for supper.... 1030: Off to find food for supper.... (I'm into the "let's kill it and eat it theory) 1130: Return with supper food..... 1200: lunch salad (all fresh stuff from the "garden of pain") 1300: Mancave for plottin' and plannin' 1530: More plottin and plannin.... 1600: Weapons cleaning (MP5's and M4's) and assembly and ammunition inventory 1700: Prepare supper for all (when SWMBO gets home it better be ready and tasty...) 1800: Supper 1900: Movie (something with alot of Arnie or Sly Stallone) 2100: Bed Time..... ( the next day is rifle and pistol range day, gotta' be rested!!!) Between 0100 and 0400 - Emergency Action Drills (Gotta' be prepared for the enema!!) After we wup you into shape, into a lean mean fightin' machine we can lazy boy out in the Wall of Voodoo and consume massive quantities of whatever... BUT, on your last day, you will have to take a PT test (pushups, situps, pull-ups, and a 2 mile ocean swim...) [H]
