3 minutes to Miller Time

Like me, our good friend Fini has been in pain since opening day of this past baseball season. Our Giants sure were a disappointment. In all seriousness, Fini I sure hope you find some relief to this back pain. Ironically, I just got done watching Weed Wars about that medical marijuana dispensary, Harborside in Oakland. This girl, can't recall what her disease was; but, she was confined to a wheel chair, and she said that after three tokes, six minutes later she was pain free.

BigStew, I'm one of those people that gets an opposite reaction to weed. It makes me anxious, paranoid, and very conscious of my pain. Weird, huh? BTW, I'm quite hopeful about the Giants' chances with Buster and Freddie back and healthy. If an epidural made the Giants win, I'd take one for the team!

Thanks for the well wishes, my friends!

Chuck - good to see you in here.

Gregg - I hope you can get the epidural and get some relief from your back pain.

Steve - I can relate. The Colts are heading to an 0-fer season.

Hope everyone has a great weekend and a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Some ginger ale (store brand) with lunch today.

it's been 30 years for me since my last toke. Although, with four herniated discs, and a bunch of life stress causing anxiety, i admit that the temptation has returned. Talked to my brother about it and told him that i was afraid that this new powerful weed would make me freak out--he told me that it all depends on what you bring to the table. if you're paranoid then chances are you're going to get real paranoid. haven't indulged...still thinking about it. after i got ran over by that truck a couple years ago, the vicadin and motrin made my stomach bleed. Not going that route again, so i just live with the pain these days. It does get old, thus the temptation to alleviate the pain via other methods. my main concern is my asthma, so smoking is out of the question. Fini, hope you find your relief. Maybe we can catch a Giants game this upcoming season. I'm originally from Oakland and have tons of family there, and i just found out my daughter is moving to NoCal soon. Steve

Hey Steve, I do hope that you are able to find some relief soon.... I played football up through college and I am just now feeling the effects of it all. However, it is not anywhere near your pain... I hope you are able to find a way through this... Boxx

Thanks Boxx--you'd be surprised what you can "get used to" but, I'm still able to get around okay. The two herniated discs in my neck are what drive me crazy though. Even so, i'm far better off than so many people. A buddy of mine played ball, and he said that a pro football player experiences the equivalent of something like twenty 35mph car crashes each game. That game takes a huge toll on the body. I hope you're doing okay. I was at the mall yesterday and there was this huge poster of a young girl with cancer--that's the stuff that gets too me, imaging what those poor sick kids are going through, so much more than me. Nice talking to you tonite. I'm sure i'll "hear" you around here again soon. Steve p.s. Hey Ben, I'm getting some Blenheims tomorrow, every time you mention ginger ale, i get a craving.

Steve, I know what you mean. Every time I feel like complaining, I'm suddenly presented with evidence that I'm not so bad off (someone in a wheelchair, folks really struggling to get around, etc.). I have no basis for complaints.

Greetings gentlemen

Been away for a while. happy to see that the thread is still alive and kicking. After many yeard of hard drinking, eating bad foods, and generally not taking care of myself things finally caught up with me. After feeling really bad for several months I finally went to the doctor for a complete physical. turns out I have diabetes-sugar level was 400. Waiting for more blood tests to come back- hope that is all that is wrong. So now it is shots, pills, blood testing twice a day, and very limited drinking. 2 drinks per day-mostly red wine-an occasional vodka or burbon with no coke. Eating really crummy food- no sugars-potatoes-rice-soft drinks or anything else that tastes good. Also body pain issues that I a trying to deal with. It is what it is- could always be worse.

Have not bought any more audio gear lately-just enjoying what I have. I do have 2 large horns with JBL drivers that will be ready sometime in Jan.Also some wood horns and ALK clone crossovers for my rear lascalas to replace the original stuff. I did buy a MB AMG C63 several months ago. Needed something with 4 doors to haul customers and take mom back and forth to the doctors. She is a beast-particulary with the traction control disabled. Kept the Porsche for weeekends. Could not bear to part with it. House got robbed several weeks ago. Smash and dash-did not touch my audio gear -omly took 2 small TVs and 2 laptops. Missed guns, jewelry, tactical flashlights, and thousnads of dollars worth of easy stuff. They really sucked as burglars. Destroyed my house getting in. I installed a security system with cameras and drv recorders and several yard signs. Hopefully they will go elsewhere next time.

Anybody know of any tasty diabetic foods? glad to see that everybody is doing reasonably well.As you can see my typing still sucks[:D]

Cheers and holiday greetings to all.

Your Mom, or the vehicle? [;)]

Hey, good to see you back here posting, but so sorry about the medical issues! I'm glad you're under medical care. Hopefully the docs can improve things. As the lifestyle changes become habit, and as you start feeling better, things should get a little easier. Still, it sucks. All the best to you! And stick around! Oh, and good wishes to your Mom!

Myself, I just got an epidural yesterday, and already feel greatly improved.

Great to see you post Winchester, it has been awhile. A healthier lifestyle is a good change, although it will be a rough road for awhile, the benefits will well outweigh the alternatives. Sorry about breaking into your house too...as soon as I saw the audio gear, I knew it was your place, but had to take some easy things to make it look like a novice. Drop in with a glass of wine or water occasionally, your seat is still open and your money is still no good.

Good one Fini- the correct answer is BOTH. you don't know the half of it. hope the epidural does the trick. Finally got my dad's estate settled so things are back to semi-normal. I am getting back into more listening and chasing CDs and vinyl so I will be back around more often.

Ace- please disregard all of the porn on the laptops you took. These are all college girls that I am helping with their tuition costs.

Time for my 2 drink ration

Cheers
