onthefenceman
Nice little Crown there. Here's what I've been doing with mine: Thanks! They've got a nice sound to them and are dead reliable. Not to mention that I like the look on top of the cabinets
colterphoto1
CW LS??? That would be a Cornwall LaScala in normal parlance, really a Cornwall, something stained or lacquered. That code makes no sense...
fini
I don't think "CW" ever meant CornWall, I think it means Cornwall Walnut Lacquer..S-something...[] Special? Spit-shined? Super-duper?
Lex Kempo
Corn Wall Loud Speaker ???

That code makes no sense... I've seen it before on a pair of Heresy's, but if I recall, it was something about a "special order", or something like that. But it's not normal. onthefenceman
Incidentally, 6/32 is the correct pitch - 3/8" seems to work fine for bare wire, but 1/4" would be better for connectors as the 3/8" will not tighten down 100%.

S=Satin I agree that is not a L but a W so they are Walnut Laquor Satin.
Jay Registrar
Hello pmsummer. Do the backs have to be removed to install these binding post? Parts Express. $10 for a 4-pack. http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=091-1250 Thanks
pmsummer
C W U S? Originally "Un-Stained" (as opposed to RB=Raw Birch)? The finish on those certainly doesn't look like a Klipsch finish (in the photos), but the millwork seems to have beveled (not butted) joints. Also, the Inspector (Teri Glass) seems to have written the letter "E" in the lower left corner. E? Klipsch Mystery Theater!!!
pmsummer
Hello pmsummer. Do the backs have to be removed to install these binding post? Thanks Yes. They bolt on from the rear. Removing the backs is easy enough.

BS Button
Those are 1982's. 1983 had a 'Y' letter in the serial number. Yes, I have Y's and they're 83's, I think. BS

colterphoto1
'S' also meant 'stained' in the case of LS, you could order them stained from the factory. I don't know about the lacquer,satin- but it sounds plausible. The CW is definitely CornWall. They all had that.
fini
CD-BR? And the oiled walnut Cornwalls are designated "CWO", but the "W" is for walnut, right? What's on the back of, say, a mahogany Cornwall?
Groomlakearea51
D is usually "Designer" (flush front driver board and no grills (?) - BR is birch, raw
fini
Right. No "W."

streyle
Here's the parts I use. The file name above is the Parts Express part number. Will this or any of the other solutions fit in where the old terminal strip is?
DoubleJ
It has been my understanding that the "S" may represent if it came with factory risers (Slant Risers) C=Cornwall WL= Walnut Lacquer S= Slant Riser Just my .02 worth JJ
