Filling Baby Cheeks

That's an interesting question. When I was using Beyma tweeters, which are quite similar, I didn't fill them at all.

I think if one did want to damp them, that cutting out some dynamat to use as a liner would be sufficient. That stuff is pretty heavy and wouldn't require actual filling the space.

There are NO high frequency sound pressher levels that will excite the face of the baby cheek tweeters...If its the JBL 2404 ,,High frequencies start at the horn throat verticle slot defracting in all directions...The domed cheeks act as controlled wave guides horozontally,,, plus verticle flairs controll horn expansion. giving 100 degree coverage. An excellerameter was placed inside the side cavities and No excitation was measured.... The Beyma baby cheeks are slightly different and if you look down the throat no verticle slot ,,The high frequencies just expand evenly across the shaped side lobes,,,,No excitation of lobes is apparent.....STUFFING putty into side openings is a tweek of futility,,,and has no sonic improvement. The geomatry of the double archs are pretty strong....I have the larger 2344 baby cheeks for MID drivers and I too worried about resonence problems in the side cavities and even in this larger design ,,,no audible problems accoured. Remember the side lobes are not WIZZER cones and are designed NOT to vibrate.
