rcarlton
I've been getting a lot of DVD's from Walmart's bargain bins. Problem is when I remove the security stickers on the edges, it leaves a sticky residue. Any tricks to removing this sticky mess?
Dale A B
I've had excellent results using regular old mineral spirits. Since it dries fairly quickly, it has even removed sticker residue from digipak cd's. Has never failed me or caused an issue yet!

fletcherkane
Odd place for my first post in months, but I agree, GooGone is some amazing stuff.
toddvj
Goo Gone stinks, though. I wouldn't want my DVD collection to have permanent Goo Gone smell.
thebes
Go Gone could cloud the plastic. Try some alcohol or WD 40. Rubbing alcohol is almost or maybe even more versatile than WD40 or duct tape.
rcarlton
Tried the mineral spirits with limited success. I'll try rubbing alcohol next.

rcarlton
WD-40 did not work. I'm looking at some adhesive remover from the Hospital to try next.
synthfreek
Just an FYI. Wal-Mart has a $3.98 promo right now that has some newer Widescreen movies like Nacho Libre, World Trade Center, and a bunch more I can't remember. Watch out though there are a bunch of Foolscreen versions as well.

Rubbing alcohol is almost or maybe even more versatile than WD40 or duct tape. No doubt, I had had tape residue left over on my arm from an IV awhile back. It seemed like it would never come off untill I used rubbing alcohol on it. That stuff is hard to get off the skin.
rcarlton
Uni-solve by smith & nephew works well. It is an adhesive removal wipe used in hospitals.

greatcountysky
I hear if you put Goo Gone on Fergie, she dissolves into a fine mist. Just FYI, in case you ever run into Fergie. GreatCountySky Satellite Internet Provider

customsteve01
MEK maybe? NO NO NO..... Colter I think your joking but just in case your not. Yes it is great at removing Goo off anything it will melt plastics and remove paint as well. I used to just about bath in that stuff. We us to use it alot. It will clean just about anything and evaporates very fast leaving little to no residue. It really messes up your head if you breathe the fumes for too long. Believe me I have spent way to much time crammed in a fuel cell cleaning tape residue with that stuff. Its not called Methel Ethel Bad Sh!t for nothing. Frzninvt
Lighter fluid (the kind you would use to refill your Zippo) works well, it does not leave an oily residue like WD40. Does a great job with adhesive residue.
