GWSmith
Hello everyone. You may remember me from some months ago... I'm the fellow that was willed the 1968 K'horns which have been instorage in my CLEAN garage for some time. When I joined the forum, Ihad mentioned my music room with all the organs etc. in it and how roomhad to be made for the setting up of the K'horns which were placed in alate friend's will. As of today (Sunday 26th) my buddy (whobought my C3) sent the movers to take that Hammond organ, and then, for the first time in a year, the K'horns were moved from the garage tothe music room!! YEAAAAAH! (O: For ease, I took the horn sectionoff AND the side grill panels so we could get them through the door(carefully hand carried). You may also remember that I bought NEWcaps for my xovers from Bob Crites. THIS will now begin the cleaningand restoration of these fine speakers of which I STILL have neverheard. Many have asked for photos, and I will take them startingwith the speakers all in pieces until they are finished and every screwis tightened and the xovers have been cleaned and retrofitted with thenew caps. These K'horns have the WHITE grills and I don't know how common this was, as I have NOT seen any on the forum as of yet. So,there you have the update and I wanted you all to know, especiallythose that I had just met way back and didn't want to leave hangin' [] Keep you all posted soon. GWSmith
Thanks Tom... I am planning on starting with the cleaning today (Sunday)... Since my grill cloth is a white `weaved' cloth, I am wondering if anyone has had experience with cleaning them. I don't want to vacuum the dirt `through' the grill where the horn drivers are, so maybe blotting with a sponge of soap solution or fantastik ??? Well, I got lots to do and lucky very little in the way of touching up wood nicks etc. Let me know if we should take this conversation into a different topic area, ie 2 channel or other? Again, thanks for the welcome - reply. Gary
