GWSmith
Simply, clipping of the extra flex lead, didn't want something flapping around in there that shouldn't be!
GWSmith
Here is a shot of the new and old driver coupler seal. You can see the compressed markings on the old, dried out seal on the LEFT...

GWSmith
Ok, I tried to remove the K-77 having NOT taken the top panel from the upper cabinet. WRONG.. I read that you should remove this to make it easier. After struggling with my ratchet, I decided to take the advice of our fellow members and take the cover off..... SO much easier []

GWSmith
THIS is an IMPORTANT detail that must be mentioned. ATTENTION Bob Crites.. The mounting holes on the CT-125 are indeed the same as the original K-77 in location, HOWEVER, the holes on the horn flange are too SMALL, at least to mate with the threaded hardware on my K'Horns. So, if this is the case for you, I used a 1/4" drill to match the original sized holes, drilled and then went ahead and mounted the new tweeters without a problem... GWSmith
Here then is the FINAL photo of my project. In short, the NEW caps on the XOVER, the new K-55-V diaphragms with new seals installed. The new Crites CT-125 tweeters. The improvements are incredible! I now have crystal clear highs, clean NON buzzing midrange and the sound stage is so improved !! I am VERY pleased with what I am hearing so far, and this with an old SS Marantz integrated amp (4140) running 25 wpc mode.. I will try my ADCOM with the Marantz as a preamp next. Then. later start a new project with restoring FOUR Dynaco MK III amps. Thanks for viewing and please feel free to comment, critique or what ever [] Kind regards to all, Gary
