mike stehr
You might want to see what these things are basically made of, maybe you find find something similar for less cash. (Lotsa DIY ideas for feet.)
tgourlie
These are not feet or spikes, but rather a box you put on the rear of your speaker to prevent cabinet vibrations. check out these links: http://www.sonic.net/soundscape/teknason.htm Yet after a little more research I think that these may be intended for low build quality speakers. In some test these did really well, while in test with B&W and Klipsch they didn't fair as well.
mike stehr
I couldn't see a pic from your link. (I get the idea.) There is all sorts of DIY things for damping speaker resonances too. Sandbags, hunks of marble or granite on top, inner tubes and the same as above on the bottom. You think it would dampen a sloppier enclosure. weird. Colin
probably small effect, instead search for "bass shaker" on these forums for something that will improve your bass quite cheaply ... ------------------ Colin's Music System Cornwall 1s & Klipsch subs; lights out & tubes glowing! Deang
Isn't cabinet resonance factored in when designing the crossover? I mean, if there is a 3db peak at 400HZ because of cabinet resonance - aren't the crossover components adjusted to compensate for this? So if you dampen the cabinet - you get a 'dip' at 400HZ instead of 'flat'. At least, I thought it worked that way. ------------------ deanG
